Seen a whole lot of talk about the Mossy, and the kewl new B-25.

But, I find myself wondering about the other changes with this version -- especially the significant increased weight factor for the P-38G. That can't help but affect the ride for a ride that has its share of passionate pilots.

So what do the fellows of SAPP, and the aeronautic engineers among us, have to say? Does the G still sing for them?

(Asking from curiosity alone....when I fly the P-38, all it sings is "Oh, I am a big fat target...Please, dear Sim, leave me in the hangar for Guppy....yeah, yeah, yeah, oooooooooo")

It feels a lot more like the J but without the wep. It shuddered and was quicker to stall.  It's definately not as nimble as it was, which is too bad, but so it goes.   I would guess it won't be as much of a furballer and more of a B n Z bird.  Because it's so much more like the J but without the wep, I would imagine the J will get more guys flying it and less will go to the G because it isn't as nimble anymore.

Gonna have to learn to fly it differently.

It's still my baby :)

Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

At this point the J is the better ride. The G you gave up wep for better turning, but now it's not worth the trade off of a bad view and no wep.

Kinda sucks, because it's not like the G was an overly dominate plane in the arenas. Who cares if it was a bit too light, it's not like it gave it any advantage over all the spit, nikki and LA deewb rides.

Just because it wasn't as widely flown as the p51ds and la7s doesn't mean it didn't dominate the fights it was in.

The G was always too nimble IMO. Hell you've still got the super flaps helping you out! It never should have turned with spit5s and A6ms, and I'm a little glad it lost a bit of that "uber"ness.

I liked the -G as a plane (same way I like the Ta152), but I'm sure it'll be more interesting to fly now, in a good way.

That's probably because the guys that generally flew a G likely knew what they were doing. You didn't see too many noobs flying them. They normally pick the L.

And they usually died much quicker than if they'd been in a plane that could maneuver.

Theres an awful lot of the "Later is Better" syndrome in this game. L's only advantage is more ords. Other than that I still say the J is the best of the series.

The J is the best one now, but IMO the G was the best, once you got over the bad view. Then again, just about anything seems light and nimble after the ride I've been flying as of late.. the 110..

I never got too enamored with the G, between the view, the shorter range, and the lack of WEP. It also seemed even more PW prone and didn't dive as well.

J was my fave once I'd gotten used to all 3. Still the one I grab when my inner SAPPer oozes his way out of the bar and to the flightline.

The G was more of a in the action or on the deck p38. Wasn't that great at the BnZ's and so on.

Bla bla bla bla,

The B26 with more guns is a lot better and the B17 gives you the extra safety of the 4 engines
