C/D didn't HAVE tail guns. Field mods don't count.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

Nope the B25C had-
-One dorsal turret 2 X .50 (modelled)
-One retractable ventral turret 2 X .50(NOT modelled)
-One flex mount nose gun 1 X .50 (modelled)

Thats it, game over, do not pass go.....well you get the idea.

If you want tail guns fly in the-
-B25H
-B25J(NOT modelled)

Yea, I'm a little ticked off that they did not model the ventral turret in the C/D model.  Sure the gunner got nausea when looking through the periscope to aim those guns, thats why they pulled them out and put in the tail guns and waist guns on later models.  The C/D model needed more fire power to defend itself especially underneath when they yanked the ventral turret.

They [the ventral turrets] didn't work. They were removed at the staging areas (incorrect term??) and were pretty much nonexistant in combat planes.

If the reliability of the machinery is not to be modelled along with the gunner's nausea then like all other pieces of AHII machinery it should work flawlessly since there is no gun jamming, glass of the periscope cracking and gunner nausea or turret totation jamming.  I do not care if they actually retract of not in game, but having them would be nice since they were in fact installed in the factories.

But the crux of it "THEY WERE REMOVED THEN.".  If combat sorties were flown after the removal that's how they should be modeled.

Actually, I believe HTC is being inconsistent here.

1. HTC has stated, Field Mod's will NOT be modeled in the game.

2. This was a FIELD MOD (or at least, it was a Mod that took place after production) so according to the first statement it should NOT be modeled in the game.

3. Unless, what HTC meant was, we're not going to model any "Field Mod's" that might improve "in" game performance, but we don't mind modeling those that decrease it. Or since this was a Mod done on almost every plane, we're going to model it. However, didn't this happen, to some degree on other planes with their field mod's? (I mean, that nearly every plane received it)

Best regards,

I'd guess HTC want the B-25C to be as close to how the real plane flew in combat as possible. Individual aircraft may have had tail guns installed, but this wasn't normal. If a factory tailgun kit had been shipped out and had seen widespread use, that would be a different issue.

There is a case for including the lower turret, since the RAF kept them on the Mitchells they used in Europe. OTOH these were technically not B-25Cs, but Mitchell Mk IIs.

Weren't the strafer versions of the B-25C all field mods anyways?
