Im Going To Afjrotc!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to a different school in a few days and they have AFJROTC. I've picked it as one of my electives.

The only thing i know about it is that i get to wear a uniform once a week and i get to build up my self-esteem.

Btw, wearing a Air Force uniform in school is gonna be badarse( i hope).

<--- went to a military school in my high school days (what one might call a jrotc program on crack)

wore the uniform to class everyday... (well actually, a uniform of some sort or another alllll the time) wore off real quick.  

(of course, in the beginning it had something to so with a senior named tooley asking me in a spanish accent "why i no chine my chooz" ...but i digress)




congrats on your new experience btw.  sounds like your gonna enjoy it.

If you can't figure it out drop the elective and choose a cooking course instead.  Chicks like guys that can cook!

My youngest is in JROTC in high school, hers is a Marine program... I did 14 years in the army, it is real hard to not inflict the inter service jokes on here

Forrest, one of the good things about JROTC is that your local OIC has discretion to influence the award of college scholarships. Do well in school and the program, and you can get a great deal:

"Air Force ROTC scholarships cover tuition, an annual textbook allowance, most lab fees and $250-$400 spending cash per academic month. The application deadline for high school students is December 1st of your senior year."

The only downside is that you have to serve an equivalent number of years (to how many years you attend college) as an officer in the USAF - good pay, career opportunity, and corporations eager to hire you when you leave active duty. Real biyotch, that, eh?

The airforce wussys. im in AJROTC and my SAI told us that the on that airforce does PT is when the air conditiner is working:rofl. J/K

But anyways yea its always good to see more and more people join JROTC.
I wonder if Vanscrew is in ROTC.

I wore the Air Force blue for 16 years Forrest. I congratulate you, and wish you well in AFJROTC. They didn't have that when I was in high school. We had the Cival Air Patrol in school.
Wearing a uniform to school in the 70's , wasn't much fun. This was the era of the spit on uniforms= cool. I hope your experiance is better.

As an Army JROTC student during my senior year (first year our school offered the course) I got to take rides in Huey slicks from our campus, tank rides at Fort Hood, weapons training on M1 Garand, M14, and M60 LMG, and regular shooting time on our indoor range with target model .22s. I helped organize and was vice commander of our precision drill team (chicks dig the fancy uniforms, weapons with bayonets, and cool moves when you march in their town's parade )

You'll be sure to have some cool fun. But the point is how much chance you have to further your education and later career opportunities. Focus on that, the fun will just happen.

Depends on what digitals your talking about. ACUPAT (the US Army pattern) sucks, really bad. It really only blends in against concrete. In a woodland environment (where I have seen it used, personally) all you have to do is look for a big light-grey blob. Even though the breakup of it is pretty good, it really doesnt help that much if the colors in it are not found in the environment around it. MARPAT (the US Marines version) is pretty nice, because there are two different patterns (woodland and desert), so the colors blend with the surrounding environment and the pattern breaks up your body outline. The new AirForce pattern (not sure what its called) employs an ACUPAT-esque color scheme (with the addition Slate Grey) with, not only a digital breakup pattern, but its arranged in a tiger stripe. Its probably the best breakup you could get, but, as with ACUPAT, the color scheme sucks.

Yeah im hoping it help me get a good job. Hopefully as a pilot. I would like to fly the C-130 or some kind of bomber.

You mentioned riding in huey's. That would be a dream come true. Btw on Oct 20-21 Fort worth's Alliance Airport is having a airshow. There site sayed they would be having Huey rides. How much do you think they cost, Or are they free?
