refueling at GV bases ?
« on: August 25, 2007, 09:28:32 AM »
Why not ?

Why can't we refuel at a GV base ?
Refuel with a minimum !
During WWII, there was planes hiden in bushes on farmland.
No runways, just open green fields and fuel cans ....
No defence guns ! Land at your own risk !!!!!

Any input anyone ?

Because they don't have the proper high-octane  fuel for aircraft at hand?

Not only fuel but all the aircraft maintanence facilities would be lacking at a GV base.

Machine gun ammo might be available but not in the quantity that would be needed to reload aircraft.

There wouldn't be any aircraft bombs or rockets at all.

There would be coffee though.

A stash of beer somewhere would be nice, also!
