Overpriced? Compared to what? ;)
High Maintenance? I've got nearly 90,000 on mine, never done nothing but oil changes and tires to it. Original brakes are still going good.
Yuppie ride? I own a F250 4x4 with a gun rack in it too. :)

My conclusion, being an owner...is...best damn car my money has ever bought in 34 years of driving.

I can't believe I said this about my sweetheart. I'm sorry sweetheart.

About 6 weeks ago I was at a family get together, and the guy I sold the car to was there. The ol black beauty was having major engine probs. Seems it had started smokin somethin awful and no power. I felt a kick in the gut when I heard this. One guy there was offering to buy it and put a "350 chevy" in it. Made me sick. I told him to let me know before he sold it.

He called 2 weeks later, it was down at the mechanics shop, I offered him two grand. And hooked up the trailer to go get her. When I saw her sitting there I felt sorry for her. I got close to the car and saw she had picked up some dings since I last saw her.:cry I loaded it up and took it home. Turned out there was nothing wrong with the engine, just a bad pcv valve lol.:aok

I drove it a few weeks and decided to paint the whole car. Went for the blackout look. Rip, this time with a clearcoat.;) Here's a few pics...

I admit it, I am obsessed with this car. If I sell it again, I'll have to put her on ebay, so I won't ever know there whereabouts of it again lol. Of course I could hire a private investigator lol:rofl

WTG, Car looks better the second time around :D
PCV valve,...:lol   I wonder what the mechanic told him what was wrong... I dont think I would tell him about the PCV valve either, he might commit suicide...

Looks awesome Blair! Surprised you didn't go with Imola Red. ;)

:aok

FYI, I sold my bimmer. Still regret it, but family was growing and so is my business so I really had no choice since we've not the budget for 4 vehicles, so the 330ci went bye bye to  a nice looking 30-something gal in Seattle.

Well, he bought about a 2000 model 7 series. He didn't really care when i told him what was wrong. Mechanic was thinking something was internally wrong with the engine.

Rip, I can't believe you sold your BMW. Quitters never win. :p

Beemers are a piece of Chit.  Barvarian Motor Waste

I owned one in Germany... Buy 2 of them, you'll need the parts.

The car is tempermental, unreliable, couldn't haul arse with both hands.

Frikken looks good in a garage, parking lot or along side of the road.  Sold mine for $1500 just to have some star~eyed~glazed kid to take it off my hands. Then his Dad wanted to kick my arse... It was possessed, not repossessed, spiritually possessed... First time I ever had to scrap the frost from INSIDE the car windows in Winter.  Had more dammm blankets inside that car than the Cottage of Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs.... and the Heater only worked in the Summertime.  I'd drive to Frankfurt and it would be sweet... coming back South towards Nurnberg it would suck fuel *Insert Evil Laffter... "How many Ration Fuel Coupons do you have in yer Wallet?"

The only thing I removed from the Beemer was the stereo, got a bad shock in doing that too... Demon Seed.

I bought a Mecedes and enjoyed Germany... I loved that car and it loved me.  Never a problem... nice wipers on the headlights, kept me warm and toasty in the harsh German Winters... nice and cool in the Summers. That car had Class. Had to stop buying the Mecedes Emblems for the hood, both the car and the local young Merkins stationed there...lost 3.

Sooo those that want to own a "Named" car go with Mercedes and forget Beemers.

:D

Mac

Just my 0.02 cents.

Bah. you just regret selling the car! You were in love and you're in denial. ;)
Kiddin aside, I can sympathize with you. Constantly working on a car is no fun, unless of course you like working on the car. :)

Mine hasn't given me any real problems. I've heard the all horror stoies most of which have to do with electrical issues. But I don't keer. I aint skeerd.  I'll do my own mechanikin' if need be.
