PC Problems
« on: August 29, 2007, 02:54:44 AM »
Heya fellas could use some help here. all this started happening yesterday.

out of no where my computer pops up a window saying that i have low disc space. WTF is what i thought. i tried to frag thing and says

Volume (c:) has only 0% free space available for use by Disk Defragmenter to run  effectively, Disk Defragmenter requiers at lest 15% usable free space. i dont know what to do there any help would be great. EDIT this problem has been fixed i found the problem

next

when i open Internet Explorer it will not log onto my homepage (msn.com) when it finaly tells me cannot find webpage i can type in a webpage after that and go to it rather fast too. but everytime i double click the icon on desktop it says cannot find website or something like that and it takes close to a minute to do so. i have tried oprea and when i open it some how it can no longer find it. any help here would be great as well thanks in advance. UPDATE this is still a problem

Is your HD that full? If it is your going to have to get rid of some of the stuff on there. Burn stuff into disks to save stuff, or just delete stuff. Once you get it down a bit, try running the defrag again.

Your computer uses the HD to load temp files for programs ...including IE... to run then clears them out except for cached sites for your browser.

Running defrag a couple times a month is normal for me. Keeping your computer clean, lean, and mean is the only way to go. Just like having too many films in your AH folders too much stuff slowes evrything down.

MSIE are you sure your homepage is the same as the one you want? Go double check in the Tools menu, under Internet Options, and on the "General" tab there is your default homepage. When you first double click the desktop icon it will load this page. It might have been changed somewhere along the lines (some javascript prompts can ask if you want to change your homepage on certain webpages), and it might be pointing to a bad link that your browser is trying to load, but cannot.

Sure, I would suggest uninstalling it then running the cleaners then re-install IE.

It isn't advisable to uninstall MSIE. Despite the courts ordering MS to allow it to happen, it can seriously destabilize the entire OS. Doesn't always, but I've heard a few horror stories.

It could be in your proxy detection settings. Make sure it's set to automatically detect proxy settings in the settings screen.

I had the same problems except that i was having cookie issues with this BB.I called Skuzzy and he pointed out to me that Microsoft had changed the Internet Explorer around and i had to go and put all the websites i normally go to in the trusted zone  in the security settings by clicking on tools, internet options at the top of my browser page.

I don't know if it's the same thing but maybe.
