All I want for Christmas....
« on: August 29, 2007, 07:56:23 AM »
Is to be able to fly EXTERNAL VIEW in the Main Arena.......

because many of us get vertigo "Sim-Sickness" due to the forced internal view.

It's why I have retired from many online games.

Perhaps "flight" games or sims aren't your thing?  The online arcade "FighterAce" had that at one time I beleive and Playstation and x-box have arcade games for people who can't handle even a little bit of "realism" or immersion.   IMO HTC would never turn that feature on for all aircraft in the MA or any other pay-for-play venue

BTW, who is "many of us"?  Is there some vertigo-phobic gamers club in AH that  I never heard about?  Your the first person I ever heard of that used "vertigo" as an excuse for such as dweebish feature in ten years of playing online aircombat  games/sims.

Fly bombers then.

Fighters will never have ext view's enabled in main, simply too gamey.

Come to the TA, can fly there all day long in all planes with ext views.

The AH view system is one of the main reasons I play this game. Any flight sim which moves my head for me (i.e. padlock view) or any FPS type game for that matter makes me nauseous in minutes.

The AH system also lets me track multiple targets quickly with an 8 way hatswitch. The cockpit art does a pretty good job of recreating the blindspots the real planes had. I can use that to put my plane into the bad guy's blindspot. Lose sight, lose the fight.

An external view would give an Me109 the same view as a P-51D. I feel most AH players want realism over arcade game easiness or they wouldn't be playing the game.

That's what drew me to this game. The feeling that I am in control of my own craft from the inside, be it GV's or fighters.

I understand why HTC allows external views for bombers, and I have used them to track enemy craft more easily due to visibility limitations for one player.

In fighters, I see no need for it because keeping your enemy visible in the fight is part of the challenge.

I am against external views except in formation bombers.
Stinks to have it on in H2H, you cant sneak up on anyone.

And i know for $14.95 I can eliminate those problems.
Too bad i dont have $14.95.

I say give the Baby Seals  the External View, they need all the help they can get.

Might as well turn on the Lead Target Sight and the Bombsight as well.

Personally, I like the internal view better than external for the same reasons as mentioned above. Blind spots were real and had to be overcome. Using enemy blind spots to get into position is part of the tactics used in WWII.

On the Shades, I totally agree... Forum accounts should be tied to an actual Aces High Account and the name should be the same for both.

I, for one, think that an AH account should not be granted unless identifying information is provided such as a Credit Card number, etc.

Seems like 90% of the problems is created by .01% of the people flying in H2H and they tend to use many AH shade accounts.

On the Simulator Sickness thing, it is for real:

Apparently sea sickness and simulator sickness are similar.
