I grew up as an airplane nut.
Kind of an 'environment' thing.. dad was in the USAF after WW2, an Uncle flew 17's for the 8th ..I read all the books I could find on the great sticks.
Heck I even took college level aerodynamics to figure out why I was havin a problem with my scale R/C spit 5. (stall wave propagation along an elliptical wing was the culprit)
Then .. I got my first computer.. Atari 400 with 16k memory ..man ..that thing was *awesome* .. then came the Amiga 500 and sub-logic's flight sim.
I was good at flight sims.
LOL.
It took me 2 months to get my first kill in AW.. and that was runnin over $1k/mo in credit card bills doin it. I flew a LOT.
Good against drones is one thing .. good against people?
Well.
I have moments when I manage to do the 'right' thing.. learned from years of doin the worst possible thing you can do over and over and over

Of course .. doing the wrong thing is still a blast so I still do the worst possible thing ie: takeoff from a capped field, fly into the bottom of a furball at 3/4 throttle, fly solo to the huge DAR bar, fly a plane that is a challenge to do well in .. all in the name of FUN.
I mean .. if it's not FUN .. why do it?
As for my expectations ..I had no idea how long and hard it would be to actually come close to my expectations when I first took a virtual Mustang into the skies of AW.
Sometimes I am very good.
Most of the time I am not
