how good are you?

I'm not very happy with where I am, but I expected as much.

I started flyin AW in the Genie days, and continued until near the end of AWIII. When I stopped flying I felt about the same way Vudak does now. I was confident I could win any 1vs1 I came across. Of course I didn't, but I was pretty confident with my skills.

I just started flyin AH2 about 3 weeks ago, and it's been an adjustment. Now every 1vs1 I find myself in, I'm confident, confident I'm going to get whacked :) But it's been great fun flyin again after a number of years off. I was never a "great" pilot, but I did pretty well. I suppose after a few months, I will make the climb back to where I was. (Not as good as I want to be. Not as good as I think I am, but better than allot)

Best regards,

I thought I would be pretty good.  Although playing Aces High was much different from the other sims I have played, simply because it was new back then.  I actually think I got to my goal or my assumption of where I could get to, but I do think I have plateaued.  You get to a certain point where you feel this zone and then that's about all you can give towards the game.  You get sloppy here and there after that.

I'll have a year in game next month - never having done anything like this B4, I have to say I'm "coming along". The game has a steep learning curve and "seat time" as Rowdy1 says is the key. I've taken some time to try and learn the Corsair (F4U1-D) and am coming along in that aircraft to a point where I probably should try some different planes just to find out their strengths and weakness'.

The most rewarding aspect of the game to me has been the willingness of the trainers and general population to share knowledge - I think we're all learning - from each other! There will probably never be a best, but with continued co-operation, we'll all become better. That is at least my hope!

Alot of being a "Decent Stick" is experience , knowing how to deal with certain situations because you've been caught in them  .  I think  rank its something that be "gamed ", alot of people turn rank into tedious little milk run's ,along with some spawn camping 8) ( yes ive been in the top 10 ) .  I think there should be a stat on how many time people have been accused of cheating   ;)

When I started I knew I wouldn't be too good, but with some training an practice I might get better. I was actually worse than I thought I would be when I started, but after a few weeks in the TA I got better. For about 2-3  months I was slightly improving. Then for a few months I just stayed the same. Then (just a month ago) I decieded I wanted to know more, and with a little reading, practicing, and great advice and help from some great people I actually got better.

In a one on one I can do fairly well. I'll die 50% of the time, but with a wingman, or someone whos just nearby to fly with me, I consider myself to be pretty good.

killed soulyss and delirium in one pass last night, that made me feel like I'm getting a lot better!

This game got a lot better when I was able to start reading E states and keeping the SA up.  Big furballs still stretch those skills.

I think to improve anymore I'll have to start filming and critiqing myself or ask better sticks for pointers.  The TA is a great place to learn what would take months on your own!

I'd say I'm average, but I hope to one day be an "uber pilot".... SkyRock is my hero ! :D

In a 1 vs 1 I'm prttey confident, but with my terrible aim it takes too long to kill. Flying with guys like Twin, Delirium, Fringe, and the rest of the 38 guys I've learned alot, and can only dream of shooting like those guys. Unfortunately I don't have the time to devote to sharping my skills, and with old age, the skills disappear quicker, its a never ending battle !
