i.e. the Xf4u4

Yes, yes, it does. If you look it up in the Book of Duh, it's Chapter 1, page 4.

Pretty much hit the nail on the head, there. The XF4Us were experimental/prototypes only that never saw combat.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

yeah it does
but i'd still like the xf4u i think 4's 30mm's that were taken off due to recoil...plus the xf4u3 did see one combat flight, it was on an experamental run off of a carrier when it was scrambled to defend it...

To my knowledge, no F4U EVER had 30mm cannon. The first XF4Us had .30cal, however.

Even if the XF4U-3 did make one combat sortie, this is hardly sufficient to be added.

I dunno what you're smoking, but those are most likely late war nightfighter models (note the wingtip radar in a giant teardrop shape) and they sure as **** didn't have 30mms.

I checked the site where he got that from. They're F4U-2s, so didn't even have the 20mm. Two .50cal in the starboard wing, the standard three in the port (one less gun to offset the weight of the radome).
