4 kills in 4 seconds
« on: August 31, 2007, 01:07:40 PM »
So I upped a Spit V looking for a bit more of a challenge, find a furball and quickly bag a kill.  Extend, grab a little alt (5k) move back to the fight where I see a lone friendly being chased by 4 unfriendlies on the deck.  I know the odds aren't very good if I join the fight and get caught up in a turn fight as I can see a bunch of other baddies on the way hungry for a rape.  But whatever, I zoom in there and my windscreen fills with the icons of 4 bad guys.

The following proceeded to occur within 3-4 seconds:

I squeeze the trigger firing off all guns tagging 2 guys and getting "Kill#2".  Now, my plane and the 3 bad guys are all within D400 of one another and I've just over shot two of the three remaining planes.  I'm thinking I still have enough speed to make an escape from the 2 behind me while still getting into a position for a shot at the single remaining in front who is now under D200.  I watch as tracers erupt from behind me and their rounds strike their pal in front of me and "Kill#3", "Kill#4" come up on my display.  Now I pull the trigger again and saw the wing off the final guy in front of me and he quickly flops into the water, "Kill#5".

Now completely clear, heading to friendly territory I extend, grab some alt, go back into the fight, get 2 more kills and land my Spit V for 7.

The AH gods were definitely on my side that flight.  Life is good.

Anyone else have a good flight to share?

I remember taking off one day while under attack and having my landing gear shot out before liftoff so when I skidded to a halt I hit the end sortie button and landed 4 proxy kills from the guys competing to vulch me and crashing...:)

It was great fun on 200..:aok

In me Hurri 2C I've climbed into tank town about 8 k passing V2.  There's 5 bad guys headed my way on dar when I see's the nearest dot is a flight of B17's low at about 3k.  I wing over dive and kill left drone.  I'm not watching dar now but extend forward loop over for another pass.  As I dive in again 4 bad guys, all P51's fly past me for said B17's.  I gets 3 of them in as many squeezes of the trigger and then I get the remaining B17.  I think the B17 got the lead P51 before his drone blew up. :D

saving a buddy

This happened awhile back.

Although this won't impress most of you, I'm terrible in fighters and was quite proud of myself.

A distress call came on the vox from one of my squadies.  He was RTB with damage and had 3 bogeys hot on his trail.  He was about 10 miles out and screaming thru the canyon trying to outrun his pursuers but losing ground fast.

I quickly up a 109, extend slightly off the runway, then dive into the canyon and head straight for my buddy.  Our closing speed was easlily over 600 mph by the time I see him at d3.0k.

I am level, head-on with my squadie and see the conga line of tangos behind him.  I scream past him, slide left and get a 3 round HO kill on first bogey.  I slide right, second HO kill shot.  Finally slide back left for 3rd and final HO kill shot.  Woo hoo-in just under 5 seconds my buddy is saved and I have killed 3 bogeys on one pass to save his kills.

I am so proud of myself and then my buddy starts thanking and praising me for the save.  I thank him for the compliments and start to re-count what I did to save him.  Big mistake-I was so wrapped up in my brilliant maneuver, I forget that I am still flying.

BOOOOM!!! I crash, spectacularly I might add, into the canyon wall.

Moral of the story-don't forget to keep looking forward while patting yourself on the back.

Over tank town in a 202 once just goofing off I guess a squad ended their mission right below me. Suddenly I had 9 kills as fast as the screen could scroll. When I landed I had 10 kills. Everyone was real impressed when I said no rearms:D

I've been in a raging furball in an F4U-4 with a quintent of scalps and am extending out, circling to regain my altitude. There's a LOT of red out there, however most of it's lower than me, and in Der Uberhoggen I'm not too concerned about getting boxed in.

As I'm climbing out I see a friendly running hard with three Spits on his six and pilot wounded. I have altitude, so turn that way and enter a shallow dive.

As I close in, I fire off a burst and the trailing Spitfire evaporates. #2 sees me before I can get a shot and breaks off. I let him go. #3 stays on his target, either fixated or he thinks he can finish him off before I'm in range. Finally, just before I have a shot, the Spit pulls up hard. I go after him, and we enter a sharp turning looping/turning fight that eventually ends up on the deck. By this time my flaps are out and after several shallow wingovers finally get around on the Spit. He tries to go vertical again, and I dump flaps the rest of the way and haul my nose up and fire. The Spit's wing pops off and he spins in.

There were a handful of low bandits at the extreme edge of icon range by the time I entered the fight against the spit, so I punch WEP and clear my flaps quick as I can, however none of them followed me when I went against the Spit. Low on gas and ammo I haul out of the engagement area.

Then there was catching shreck and his cherry-picking 262 flatfooted with a full WEP dive from 15k while he was scooting along at 5k trying to chase down another Rook. The best part? He never even saw me coming. :t

Killing a 262 is not how many perks you get, but how many the other player looses.  :t

Yup just the other day i was in my -4 over TT being the only rook around, the knights and bish were fighting each other pretty heavy so i decide to jump in, the first pass i catch 2 going strait up one trying to rope the other i swing in and kill them both in their climb.

Then i start clearing sixes by killing the chasee and then the chasser, all in all I went back home with a solid 11 Victories within 10 minutes.

I got 2.5 perks. And that's WITH the B-24, Boston, and Ki-84 I'd already flames on that run. :p

I used to have a lot of fun winging up with Lazerus, Misfit, et al, back a few years ago on our oft-ill-fated 110 missions :)

I don't think we ever accomplished anything besides everyone dying, but it was always a hoot :aok

Then there were those nights Lazerus and I would wing up in Tempests, wanting to vulch, and end up taking down the field ack in them while everyone else twiddled their thumbs :D

I miss flying with those guys.  They should probably STOP BY ONCE IN AWHILE   I'd even pull the G-2 out of mothballs for the occasion :)

Few weeks ago I took out the same 262 twice in 5 minutes while in a fieldgun. Had a good chuckle.
