Whatever the measurement, France is up there in both measurements. Not bad for a country that works a 35 hour week and takes the entire month of August off on holiday. You must be doing something right eh Straffo?

I'm not surprised Ireland is number 2 to America, (just). We swallowed whole the America system and it works great. Long hours, lowish taxes. We could easily be the 51st state. But we just take more holidays than you Americans. We like our time off.

Wait, all of France takes all of August off?

I know you're just kidding (mostly anyhow) but it's weird that no matter how the US places on studies like that, Americans are either fat dumb and lazy, or maniacal over-achievers who don't know how to really live. I think you have me confused with someone else.

We have however had this discussion before. I think it was this spring and the outcome was about the same. USA on overall productivity top and Norway on productivity per hour. Kinda does not make sense calling Americans lazy if they work the most hours.

^ exactly. Don't think I'd want to be the most productive, if it meant working 40 hour weeks (minimum) plus unpaid overtime, and 2 weeks vacation allowance. Screw that.

beetle... I think that it is illegal to have unpaid overtime here... it even has to be posted at every job site.
