Holy crap, where have I been that this movie flew under my radar?
Just caught it by accident tonight.

Best film I've seen in a long, long time.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Is it suitable for kids?
Some will fall in love with life and drink it from a fountain that is pouring like an avalanche coming down the mountain

Tis a good movie, i have an arts cinema a 2 minute walk from my house so i see a lot of indi movies/world cinema.

It is a fantasy film, how young are your children?  IIRC the spanish officer does some very brutal things, i don't think it would be suitable for kids.
"Willy's gone and made another,
Something like it's elder brother-
Wing tips rounded, spinner's bigger.
Unbraced tailplane ends it's figure.
One-O-nine F is it's name-
F is for futile, not for fame."

I"ve been wanting to watch this one for a while.  It looks good.  It seems these type of movies (not sure of a catagory but I'd say semi-fantisy) are coming out more and more.

I'm going to see stardust tonight.  Supposed to be pretty good.

In addition if you want to a good family movie to watch "Bridge to Teribithea" is excellent and a tear jerker!

It was a pretty disgusting film... It's on cable and I have tried to watch it several times but... If you like the current crop of torture films and such you might like it.

Curval, what thrila said.
There are more or less equal parts of very G scenes, and borderline R.  It's a bit unusual.
I don't know what your parenting 'rules' are, but I think kids 14-15 years and older is a safe limit.

It has some pretty gruesome scenes, but it's not gratuitous. This is an excellent film. Definitely NOT for small children unless you want to scare the bejeezus out of them.

The whole "thing that should not be" creature with the eyes in his hands is creepy. The way he just sat there.

As long as you don't mind reading subtitles the whole time, It's really a pretty good flick.

Death is no easy answer
For those who wish to know
Ask those who have been before you
What fate the future holds
It ain't pretty
