I Googled it...did not understand.

Spike, I'm not sure how others do it but here's how I make mine...

I use UnFreez,  downloaded for free (google it) get the pics you want to use for your animated gif,  resize them to the correct size.  drop them into Unfreez in the order you want them to play, set the frame rate and presto... you got an animated avatar.

I made this one from one pic, just making slight changes on several copies, up to 8 separate pics
