50 Worst Cars of all time

The guy who wrote this should be writing hallmark greeting cards, and keeping his soft little finger tips away from any topic remotely related to machines.

He didn't like the Rambo Lambo because of the people who bought it?
He didn't like the Explorer because of the SUV trend it kicked off?
He didn't like the BMW 7-series because of the I-Drive?
He didn't like the Hummer H2 because it was inefficient.... yet put the EV1 in there because it didn't do the job of being an electric car WELL ENOUGH to please him, and still yet, put the Camara Iron Duke and Corvette California in there because they were TOO watered down from their original, indulgent bretheren....

THIS GUY IS A sweetheartBAG ON WHEELS

Why didn't he put the Prius on there because ITS clientelle? -- because he probably drives one.
Or how about the Original Humvee, since it was even bigger and less efficient than the newer ones?
Or why not stick every Ferrari ever made on there, since they too happen to be favorites of our cash-bloated, camel-****ing, oil-pumping, diaper-headed friends in the sand? Or every Bentley and Rolls, for that matter?

This list was interesting early on, humorous towards the middle, and an ejaculation of limp-wristed political views at the end.

**** this piece of ****.

It’s hard to get any emotion out of neubob; he tends to hold back.

For all his "brilliance" the author failed to do his research. The NHTSA found that the Corvair was as safe or safer than any other vehicle on the road. They were NOT at all unsafe or unreliable, and the 65 and up were really good looking cars. The 60 through 64 cars weren't bad either, just not as slick or as quick.

The Vega wasn't bad either, it's more that owners were ready for the type of maintenance they required. It would have been better (well, easier) had GM used cast iron sleeves, but had people taken care of the engine correctly, they'd have been fine.

The gist of it is, stupid, arrogant idiots, who are not car people, should not write about cars.

two words...

Plymouth Cricket!  What a disaster.  When I was dating my wife her friend got talked into buying one and it never ran, and was always in the shops.  Within three months of buying the abomination she was finally able to talk the dealership into taking the car back.

Why is the R5 (Lecar for USA) a POS? It was definitly a lowbudget car, no thrill inside/outside, but it ran for ever with it's itsybitsy engine. Very successfull in France.

I think that even tho restrained.... neubob is right.

The crosley that the guy got all upset over the engine... It was one of the most successful racing engines of all times in the lower classes like midget racing and even bonnie.    Everyone it seemed liked the motor.

He did hit the nail on the head on a couple of cars tho but he used hysteria and PC and myth to make too many of his choices... the corvair handled great compared to the VW bug for instance...  nader lied... the pinto sold millions and it didn't burn any more than most cars in a wreck... it was small and the tank was in the truncated back... new cars are as vulnerable with the crush zones and such.

When I was a kid we had a 63 Corvair 4 door.  From 72 to 76 my dad drove that car to work and I started to learn to drive with that car, never had a problem.   I also drove my dad's 65 Mustang and 67 Camaro.  I hated the seats in those cars I always felt like I was falling backwards.  In 1977 I bought a 75 Vega GT, 4 speed, 23,000 miles for $1500 I had saved up working odd jobs and loading hay for people.  Drove it for almost 2 1/2 years, only thing I had to replace was a headlight, the starter, and tires,  never gave me a problem.

I dont think this guy has a clue what makes a car good or bad.  Each of us has our own worst and best list.  Ask my dad and he'd probably tell ya the 1947 Chevy Fleet Master was one of the worst cars ever built.  He said stuff was always breaking on that car, it left him stranded a few times and that was 1955 and 1956.   I'd say the 1982 Ford Exp should be on that list, that car was so bad I dont even want to look at fords anymore (except old fords..)
