Give her your car in the mean time? Seeing you working non-stop to find a solution should be as good as having a solution found and implemented, if you didn't wreck it on purpose and she's any sort of reasonable.

I don't know about the specifics, but if you need a solid VW resource, the vwvortex forums should have the info you're after.  I can't tell how long they'd take to reply with the answers you want, though.

You ran the car's open door into that post, right?  No direct impact on the rest of the car's frame?

Apologize and voluntarily surrender your licence to authorities. Wait a few years and take some driving lessons before getting back behind the wheel.

this is a great opportunity to test her character.  we must all pass through crisis in our relationship.  you have discovered the best way to determine how materialistic she is and what her values are.  as far as chattel is concerned there is nothing more valued than a car to it's owner now you'll know if she values you more than she does "stuff".  think it through and buck up sheesh.

just in case I refer you to the first VWE post though.

You are not allowed to have an accident and are afraid of her reaction? What kind of relationship is that?

This is why you have insurance.

I disagree with VWE I would say nothing and watch for reaction and initial response.  if she says WTF my car!!!!! instead of were you hurt I'd bounce her arse out to the boulevard car and all.  if she is concerned about me and any possible injury sustained I'd take her to the porsche dealership and allow her the car she wants but that's just me.

but that is irrelevant.  i am not seeking relationship advice...i am seekuing solveny.  if i can find solvency, i can alleviate the provlem.  if i can alleviate the problem, i can walk right through this...if i can't...ill never live it down.

good point rolex...but what kind of relationship would it be if i were to dismiss this as a simple matter of insurace...(especially considering that she has made several claims this year already and my be due for an increase should the matter continue to surface...

You don't need solvency right now, you need to start packing.
