The Trade Center
The Pentagon
Flight 93

2,974 innocent people died. Another 24 still missing. Atleast one more person died thereafter due to lung disease related to dust created in the Trade Center attacks.

Then: I was in 8th grade spanish class. Watching the events unfold on the television. Watching the 2nd aircraft hit the South tower. I will always remember the name of a kid making jokes about the event up until the 2nd plane hit. He soon after began crying.

Now: Im a active duty servicemen in the United States Navy. Sworn to defend my country, family, loved ones, and all other innocent people in this world from ever having to live through another event such as this. I would proudly give my life knowing that I saved the life of a innocent person from the scum of the earth who would attempt to take the life of a innocent person so they can return to their loved ones.

I Retired from Active Duty Army in 1995. 20 Years.

On 9/11 I watched in horror as millions of many other Americans did at the attack.
I was so sickened at the sight of it... I went home from work pisssed, hurt and in tears.

On 9/12 I emailed/ Fax'd/ Called and mailed a Request to Return to Active Duty Status.

After numerous inquiries I finally received a response from DoD on 05/2002..

"Thank you for being a fine Patriotic American and willingly wanting to return to Active Duty in defense of our Country." "We are not accepting Retiree Recalls at this time."

Why take in a young kid when I know the the ropes?

I was willing to give up my Retirement and return as an E7 to help and lead.  This still leaves a bitter taste.

To all that lost Loved ones in the attack, may GOD Bless you and comfort you for your loss.

To those that have and are now serving... GOD Bless you.

We Will Never Forget!

9/11 was a sad day for me, I stared in shock and disbelief.  6 years later some things have gone wrong with the US Strategy, but I am still all for fighting world terrorism.

This problem still needs to be front and center.  It's not about the oil, it's about cowards attacking innocents.  The latest attack was at an airport in Scotland............

Actually its a sad day period. I do not believe that Al-Quadi was the only thing involved. I also am not an idiot. Good day to you, and may you be safe well into the future.
Forgot who said this while trying to take a base, but the quote goes like this. "I cant help you with ack, Im not in attack mode" This is with only 2 ack up in the town while troops were there, waiting. The rest of the town was down.

We have met the enemy, and he is us.

The laws passed, the acceptance of our erosion of liberties, these have done more actual damage to us as a nation than the attacks themselves.

The best answer to the crazy conspiracy theorists is the simple fact that Osama Bin Laden believes he organised it and is still releasing videos of the hijackers. Or maybe people think OBL is an agent for the CIA?

I would go so far to say that anyone who believes the United States government had any hand, act or part in 9/11 is a fool. What part of the glaring evidence isn't convincing? Two planes flying into the buildings live on TV. The witnesses? Al Qaeda admitting it was them?

I cannot understand how any half intelligent person can believe it was a giant conspiracy by Americans against Americans.   :furious

We are facing an arduous enemy.  Not only is he trying to kill us, he is also trying to bleed us dry economically.  Osama himself has said this.

It is no great mystery that societies crumble from within.  We are almost following in the exact footsteps of Rome.  We are fighting an external enemy (Middle Easterners), while letting in a parasitic enemy (multitudes of mexicans).

Its a 2-front war, and I hope this 9/11 we can reflect on the sacrifice made by our servicemen and try to better our country.

Mac,

I got the same reply as well. :(

BlueJ,

Welcome to the adult world and kudos for serving.

Blue to you and to anyone who wears the uniform past, present, and future, you have my sincere thanks and respect .

I could write a three page dissertation of my feelings about 9/11 and the aftermath thereof but my friends (Mac, etc..) know my feelings without me having to speak them.

All I want is for all of our service men and women to come home safe and hopefully whole and for all of the terrorists, insurgents, etc, and their 'holy' leaders to go home in a bodybag.

The sooner the better.

It's scary to think that a rogue group of uneducated, poorly equipped foreigners could do so much damage in one fell swoop.  In order to believe that that is what happened you must also understand that this could happen again any time, anywhere...

It's much more convenient to believe that the only way this could have been done was by a well-trained well-equipped machine of OUR making.

9/11 conspiracy theorists have their heads firmly planted in the sand.
