A great fighter pilot is almost by definition cocky.  He has to be to know he can go into any situation and win.  Cocky and stupid are two completely different things though.  This thread has a lot of stupid.

I fought you in your "best" plane, the F4u-4 I think it was.  You aren't that good.

Hey Warlock - don't take people on AH too seriously - many of the better players are actually quite insecure/immature/in-need of community approval - so they'll do things like yell and scream, call people out, toss accusations of "dishonorable play", yet will do said tactics when it suits them.

It's basic psychology - if you vehemently accuse others of a certain activity, it makes people think you don't partake in said activities.  Call it Billy Graham syndrome or whatever.

Others actually just like getting rises out of rattling people's cages - back in AW, we used to call it "getting hate".  For many people, that was the funnest part of the game. A lot of the oldtime players used to BASK in "sweet hatred".

It is actually funny in a juvenile way - can't say I haven't done it a few times myself :aok.  The point is, if someone takes the game so seriously, as to be deeply personally offended by "the voices in the machine", well, there's just something a little pathetic about it, and it invites taunting + ridicule.

The muppets are good sticks - but if you show them vulnerability to "the voices", they will pick at you mercilessly    Did I say pick at?  make that "pull the scabs off and salt the wounds".

So my advice - don't take the banter too seriously (which they even use as a disclaimer).... laugh it off - and go back to enjoying the game with people who are your friends (like me!).   You can only be truly "owned" if it bothers you after you log out.

Detuning from 200 and not reading these forums also can help

Humility, learn a little about it.  I've had to listen to you on range vox talk about how great you are and how great a shot  you are... no you weren't defending yourself, you were flat out bragging.  Personally, I really don't have a problem or dislike with anything you do except for how you toot your own horn.  I detest blowhards.

not sure if you are trying to put words in my mouth but your statement just confirms what I was saying.  You have posted numerous times about your skill level, how you are the reason why rooks win resets, etc.  None of these where in a situation where you were defending yourself.  Personally I don't really care, feel free to self promote yourself to those you actually might.  I was just pointing out the irony of telling someone about noodle measuring when clearly you need to point out how large yours is.

All I was doing was helping a squaddie. I just read it...laughed...and flew home. Now it wasn't demeaning or anything...but you did pm me when ya got shot.

Personally, I figure I'm about average - a little over the median at best... there's a lot better out there than me - that's for sure...  Actually I love nothing more than mixing it up with my betters - lessons learned "the hard way" tend to stick longer :)

I also dislike the whole bragging thing...  Also don't like watermelon talk - I'm from the Old School, where bragging is always crass - even if you can back it up.  In some ways it's even more classless if you can back it up...  don't know why exactly...  maybe because you should know better.

First of u notice i say WE when i talk about the rooks winning. Second I know im a good pilot.

And less we forget STANG I killed u a few times in the DA. but it his hard to beat somoene to spends their entire life in the DA perfecting their 1 on 1 fighting skills.

Shamroc u make it a good point. But just cause someone says hey your crap and im better than u, but its ok because u cant take me to seriously, dosnt give them the right to talk about people the way they do.

The muppets are good sticks because they live every waking moment to be better than the next. I can give them props on that they practice and try to be good at it. but thats no reason to talk about people.

They are also in that group u talked about being the ones that use tactics they ridicule others about using.

That said having a catch phrase that says dont take my banter seriously is nothing more than a WALL for them to stand behind when they talk about people. HENCE A READY MADE DEFENSE.

that is exacly what im getting at. This post had nothing to do with the muppets, but they couldnt handle me talking about a DA experince i had with one.

All they do is crash a thread in here and turn it into something about them, its sad. But i guess if what u live for is a game, and get hard ons by wriling people up then i guess thats u

I prefer to get my hard ons with a live woman, and not my superiority in this game, or the ability to talk smack.

That being said steve, why are in a squad full of them?? knowone blows his own horn more than skyrock or do u not pay attention to 200.

See this hypocryte stuff is what im talking about.

Fester calls people ALT MONKEY(souns like steve)  Skyrock calls people HO TARDS(sounds like 1sads) yet all u guys reside in the same squad.

so steve should hate skyrock as well, skyrock shound hate 1sads. boy i bet thats a interesting squad to be in.

I took alot of time to learn EVERY aspect of this game, and would be more than happy to show u some ropes, im sure u got the ACMs down and u will probly only need help with the technical stuff, and setup,

If u ever hop to the rook side check vox channel 120, my squad is to big to be recruting anyone else, especally since all of them are active atleast every other day and i have 2 alli squads that will wing up with us when we are in short numbers.

But me and my guys will always be willing to help,

VMF 323 Deathrattlers

also the Arch Angels

and the VF-31 tomcatters as well, all are willing to lend a hand to anyone that needs some help, and when i ever make some free time, im going to hit the DA alot more and do some more 1 on 1 training with my squad, u are more than welcome to do that as well.

last one, dunno I see alot of "I" "My" in there, no "We."  but I'm done, sorry for playing a role in the hijack bat.

To this I add, last person I DA'd, yes it was awhile was creton.  Only went 2 rounds, he got me both times in f4u, but last one was close.  My only redemption was a few weeks later when I got his 109 with my 38.  He's always a fun guy to fight.

You know, before this thread, I always thought it was impossible to come off as a bigger bellybutton than the Muppets :D
