Where are textures stored?

In system memory or the memory on the video card?

If I want to preload all textures and run 1024 texture size (my resolution is 1280x1024), will a 256 Mb vidcard handle it or do I need a 512 Mb card?

I beleive it is in System memory

reguardless. I preload at 1024 with a 1400X1050 resolution with no problems. So I wouldnt imagine it being any problem for you.

Might be dependant on your CPU speed and how many processes you have running though as to how well it works for you though

Im running an Anthlon 3200+ overclocked to 2052.78 mhz
and prior to running AH I am running 24 processes
An AGP Radeon 9550 256 meg Video card (Hopefully to be upgraded to the PNY - 500 MB Verto GeForce 7600 GS Graphics Card soon)

you need 1gb in ram or better . yes a 256mb VC handles it if its fast enough .

if your FPS hits the gutter or you get freezing . its better to just run the hires pack with out preloading .

"Im running an Anthlon 3200+ overclocked to 2052.78 mhz  "  thats under clocked , you should be at 2.2ghz stock .. 2.4-2.6 if its got the cooling system .
