Game locks up

This happens in the P51 or B24 either one. The game seems smooth as can be with no warping or hesitations and then while I am panning the sky for cons the screen goes to a blue cloudy sky and stop responding. Alt tab and ctrl-alt-del do nothing. I have read all the stickies and applied all the AMD patches the latest drivers from nvidia and ASUS and nothing seems to help.

I've had same problem since latest patch, view goes too what looks like up,front or up view,just blue skies. Then I can't window out,doesnt go to desktop,and I have to reboot.

2.11 patch 3...

Game still locks up even after I went to a fresh install of XP and AH. Almost nothing else on the system.
