Don't Vaporize me
« on: February 11, 2000, 07:55:00 AM »
Sorry Pyro/HT, minor gripe here. I dislike the vaporizing explosions that I'm seeing now in AH, I think it looks too cartoonish. I've seen many planes get hit and just go *Poof* in a big, cartoon-like fireball. No wreckage,  no nothing left. I've seen lots & lots of guncam footage, and I have yet to see anything get totally vaporized.

Can't the planes just break apart into many pieces and become flaming wreckage?

Trying to be constructive here, hope I don't sound too negative.

I know from past experience in CK/WB's they this eventually was enhanced, but priority wise, I think it's in best business sense for them to concentrate in other areas first, when things slow down a bit, then fix it.   This is how they handled it in CK.  My 2 cents.

Sheesh. You've never shot me down have you?

I seem to blow up clean about once out of every 5 times I die. the rest I spin in missing major peices of my aircraft and half of those I have flame and smoke coming out from my fuselage.
And I see the same. I very rarely get a full blown decimination. I more often knock a wing off (which I see spin off and flutter away) or I find I have severely damaged the enemy and I watch him corkscrew into the ground with a smoke trail miles long behing him.
If you only see explosions then you might have a graphics card issue of some kind.

I think that when you see a plane vaporized, this is a pilot kill...but don't quote me.

Hehe, well actually Westy, I seem to be going *poof* a lot. I've been vaporized in at least 50% of my deaths. I must be presenting quite a target to my killers!

Yeah, like I said Ripsnort, it's a minor gripe. Doesn't need to be adresses immediately, just when they get around to looking at small things to fix.

LOL! Maybe I've been spontaniously combusting, kinda like the drummer from "Spinal Tap".

I mentioned this before (vaporization) and HT said they were looking into it.

I was just playing WB 2.75 with the new hit model. They've done the catastrophic explosion right.. instead of the plane vaporizating it blows up a bit, smoke of all types come streaming out and fire is shown on all sides as the plane plummets to the ground...

All I can say is DAMN that is purty
