death to puffy ack code

why is this abomination of coding in the game anyways?

really HT you need to fly in this stuff for 15 minutes with it going bam bam bam bam bam bam bam bam bam bam bam bam over and over while it tracks you with its instant laser guided mindmeld  box of slotmachine russian roulet from 10 miles away that stops instantly at 3k.

then the whole time its counting down your probability of death while your below 3k so once you pop up above 3k for a second after flying for 5 minutes at 3k the puffy ai goes plink and your back in tower.

thats fun. I love it. we should cover whole map with puffy flak. best coad evar!
gonna go fly offline now vs puffy flak because its mroe fun than fighting human adversaries.  yay!

make all the 88mm and cv flak manable and remove the code.  least this would have some realism too it and might actually stop level buffs from flying 10k over the cv unharmed while fighters at 4k 10 miles away get blown away instantly.

Puffy ack...

I hate the way puffy ack is deadly to fighters, and completely harmless against bombers.  It should be more like the other way round.
I am not ashamed to confess that I am ignorant of what I do not know.

Anyone remember European Air War, where you could get every bomber to target and not lose one to enemy fighters, but if the puffy ack wiped them all out you'd still get a "Mission Failed" message?

That is what annoys me most about black ack, bombers stream into CV left and right, meanwhile on the fringe fighters getting blasted.  And yes, it is a horrible way to die.

Against La-7's there's plenty of counters though, and it's a human player you lose against.
Puffy ack is just a random death, not fun.
It wouldnt be so bad if it didn't take out maneuvering fighters at a disproportional high rate. :cry

Ahh, puffy ack only kills you if you've been flying for a really long time or unless you are in a perk plane.

Maybe puffy ack should only target bombers and strike aircraft?

Dunno.

having more guns manned by players might give CV better chance to actually survive a bit longer as players would be able to decide what planes are real threats to the CV...something both furballers and strat guys might appreciate.  Who knows, I'm all for the idea of removing an AI element and making it a player element, why not?  Not asking it to be removed, just improved.  Who wants dumb/random AI? Especially when it comes to valuable assets such as CV's.  Until then, I will continue swearing at the black ack gods who curse me:)

How is it to know the difference between strike aircraft and a fighter variant?

I rarely die to puffy ack, I'll take pings that do no damage, or occasionally lose an engine...  but the ratio of my time in puffy ack to getting hit by puffy ack seems OK to me.

It only seems to hit me if I'm in a 262.

What annoys me the most is that the ack often doesn't open up on you until you're almost right on top of the carrier, and yet it follows you for three quarters of a sector.
