Red Bull air-races are fantastic - I watched the London event a while ago and it was really good. They are pulling 9gs in the turns and the races are very close. Some great locations too.

I saw this on ESPN or something. Just wondering how many deaths per second do these races cause on average??

I'd say those people get into the plane willingly, knowing the risks.  So it really doesn't matter, does it?  Sheesh..............

Deaths per second? They've not had a single accident, never mind fatality. The events are scrupulously controlled and the pilots highly experienced. I doubt goverment authorities would allow them to race over the Thames in London, Danube in Budapest etc if they weren't completely professional...

Not very many.  Driving your car is more dangerous.

If Im not on duty Im going. Saw one practicing out over the ocean yesterday while I was fishing. Our Navy helicopters were giving that little bugger quite of alot of space. Odd being that he was so close to the air station. Usually its get the flock out of my way.

Yup, Im going. No duty. I'll take lots of pictures for the rest of yall. Got a perfect view from base. Real close. The U.S.S. Reagan's command is thinking about opening up the flight deck for military personnel who want to watch the races. Perfect vantage point.
