I have met a few players who honestly believe this is true, and he has a big red "DISCO" button to disco players (at the most annoying times) who make too many waves on the forums.

Trust me I know, I put it there. :)

NHawk <>...

Thank you VERY much for the reply, and the information!

It WAS very much a mystery for me, as in all the times I have played on that map, I had never encountered it in any third of the map knights were on prior to yesterday.  Many knights at the time were surprised by the thickness of the "pea-soup"....especially at 2 ports simultaneously.

If you can, please also advise of the lower strata of "puffy" clouds between 5 and 10K...

Are they also on a "schedule"...is there a slight N/S or EW direction (with out wind) at these stratas?

It's cool to be able to duck into these could banks in dogfights adds to the realsim...

I'm not a fan of John Carpenter's "The Fog".....enveloping cv groups and ports, however, as it's not a feature elsewhere on the maps.

Thanks for the info!

If someone can provide a link to any previous bbs discussions on the fog, I'd love to learn more.

Thanks!

He does have a big red disco button. Seen him use it too. Christmas Eve 2005 I was attached to Doobs' plane as an observer and we were following HiTech around in his Santa Sleigh. Finally Doobs asked me if I thought he should try and kill Santa. I said sure why not so he did.  Within seconds of killing Santa I found myself in the tower and Doobs was kicked for 15 minutes. I also got to witness the big red button at the 2006 con in action. :aok

LOL I have no doubt they can kick people at will, but my point is there's people who think he sits there all night disco'ing people who he simply doesn't like - like full time - like every disco they've ever had is because Hitech is on the other end in some dark room illuminated by CRT reflections, surrounded by old pizza boxes and empty 2L bottles of diet coke, rubbing his hands and laughing manically. :aok

I am just saying, I have never wittnessed "mystery fog" before....on any map.

I HAVE noticed cloud formations between 5K and 10K more recently (in the bombsite, they look like "vertical" clouds, whispy, almost a Cirrus formation at a level more suited for "puffy" clouds in RL) lately.

The "mystery fog" just looked very convinient...socking in both ports were trying to take at the same time.

If the "mystery fog" has been discussed here before, please provide the link as all I get when I search is "invalid search string"...and I would like to learn more about it.

Thanks!

We get it.  You didn't know it existed, and you imagined it singled out the Knits.

That is why we are educating you.

Frankly, that fog has never helped me and my squad, but it was fun as heck to fly through.   Cheers to HTC for variety!

ps, I suppose it's not a huge mystery that you didn't recognize fog if you think it has to be above 14,000 feet.    :)

As far as the flames?  Go back and read your post, think of the attitude you projected.   You didn't get it, so you assumed it was a personal assault.  Chill next time.   Take it slower and ask first.

All clouds on all maps are time based. Direction and speed varies, depending on how the clouds were created by the person who made the map or cloud system.

I'd have to unarchive the Smpizza source to check direction and speed of the other cloud patterns. But I'd hazard a guess that they are moving at 30mph in one direction or another. :)

So far as I can recall there has been no discussion about the fog on Smpizza in the past.

Most of the people you meet in life are like slinkies. Pretty much useless, but still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

I have never seen a discussion about the "fog" either ... When the map came out, those who ran into it accepted it for what it was and/or dealt with it.

Personally ... I love it !!!
