long range RF remote control, need advice
« on: September 18, 2007, 12:37:34 PM »
Hi,

Guys i have small problem. Id like to control light placed 300 ft away outdoor.
Most of system like insteon , zwave and x10 give me range around 100-150ft, witch is not enough.
I have remote control for sprinklers, its works up to mile but its only low voltage.
Is there any product i can just plug in to  outlet and control it via remote?
Dimming abilities would be nice as well

thx

Where is this light getting it's power from? I assume it's electric and not gas powered.

You could try using your low voltage controller to operate a relay.

What about adding a directional antenna to the x10 or whatever 100-150 ft system you use?

i thought about it
but this line will power lights in gazebo (like 8x60W) + low voltage for accent lights

This might be overkill but a biggish dish might make a nice conversation piece.

Here we put salt on Margaritas, not sidewalks.
