POW Camps
« on: September 22, 2007, 12:02:01 PM »
Me and the other squadies were talking last night and I came up with the Idea of a POW Camp for the game. Now I dont know if this has been brought up before, but I think this would be fun to have in the game. Put the camp near the HQ or near all the strat targets. On the camp, put a runway to land a goon and a rearming pad to load the troops. Take back off and if u make it back to your base, you get perkies. Now yall can help me out and make changes on how yall would do it or what yall will change. I just think it will be fun and another thing to do in the game. Plus they will be fun in the AvA arena's.

So if I'm downed in an enemy territory, that means I have to wait hours doing nothing until I'm rescued by someone?

That part wouldn't sound very fun.

The "perkie players" would go nuts over this. 24 hours NOE runs to this POW field just for a few perks and rank upgrade. I say .ef is still the best way to save a downed airman.

nope, the pow camp would have nothing to do with u getting shot down. U get shot down, just get right back up. doesnt affect you in any way. im just saying throw something different in there for once. maybe you and some squadies decide to do a noe raid on a camp, land the goon on the hot pad, 30 seconds later u have pow's on board, fly back to base land and u get perks. doesnt have to be alot of pearks. im just saying it will be something different to do for once, and I think it would be a hell of a lot of fun.

Question:
How do the POW's get from their holding cells to the C47?
"Oh, an enemy transport is coming in, stand down men. No Jasper you can't shoot it. Alright go release the prisoners. If I so much as see one of you fire a shot, that will be the last we hear from you"

There is a historical precedent here, the famous Amiens jail break carried out by Mosquitos. The French resistance asked the RAF to attack the jail in 1944. They had heard the Gestapo were intending to excute the resistance prisoners held there before the Allied armies could arrive.

The Mosquitos came in at below treetop height and  dropped delayed action bombs on the jail's walls and guard barracks. The concussion sprang open many of the cell doors and hundreds of prisoners were able to escape. No goons of course so almost all the prisoners were rounded up later.

Not sure how this would translate into AH. Maybe you could get points for knocking out barracks, walls and watchtowers, but lose them for hitting cellblocks. When the defences are down the prisoners escape and you collect them with goons.
