A week or so ago, a player I'd never heard of started smack talking after a long, very timid, 2 (for them) vs 1 (me) fight that I ended up dying in. I guess I was in a bad mood, because I gave it back, and repeatedly challenged him to try a fight, his plane, any plane, in MA (at agreed on alt/location) or DA. He wouldn't do it under any circimstances, but didn't stop smacking either.

After about 20 minutes of this (I AM ashamed I didnt just squelch him), the CO of his squad steps in and says he will go to DA. Great! (Although it does raise questions about the absolute 'nadlessness of the first guy, openly letting his CO fight for him...)

ANyway, we get to DA, and the guy wants to "fight" in the D3A, or the B5N == the one with NO FORWARD GUNS. It takes me a sec to figure out what he's saying, becuase its so absolutely unintelligible to me -- but that's what he wants to do, relying on either using the rear gun, or "making" the other guy stall. I tell him I will NOT go into the rear gun in a duel, and can't see the point of the match...

We tried one duel in 110s, but he violated the alt limit at onset and I called void. Right after that, he said his wife had accident and he had to go...and when I saw him in the MA, I was relieved to hear she was OK, only got run onto the shoulder by a logging truck.

So if anyone wants to start a non-shooting dueling league, I can get you the name of one likely volunteer!

I dunno sim... get a couple of rear gunners and see who can get in front of each other quickest might be kind of interesting ;)

Anyone who thinks ch 200 is a problem is worried way too much about what is typed on 200.  There are many different types of people who play this game, and there will be many who find one thing offensive yet not another, and vice versa.  I have been using squelch when I don't like what someone is talking about, it works very well.  :aok

Good posts Frenchy and some of the others.

I can't remember who suggested it, about the "fighter academy", but IMHO something like that is really needed. . As somewhat of a new stick to this game, (getting close to a year) I can tell you it's frustrating as hell to learn ACM in this game.

I really think this little online world is pretty much nothing more than a community. A community is only as good as it's members and that can only be as good as what the members are willing to put into it.

With that said, most players in the MA's seem to have the I don't give a crap about anything but landing my 5 or 6 kills additude. As a somewhat of a newer stick to the game (going on a year) I found it very hard to learn ACM and hell I still have a long way to go.

I've never had a single min of training from any of the trainers. I tried to get some help in the P38 at one point but wasn't able to line  up any help. I just ended up learning what I could on my own. I guess there are just so many players no, that trainers are few and far between. The one time I asked one of the "good" 38 sticks in the game for some tips, I got the reply.. "I'm not a trainer go to the training rooms".

So with that said, it's understandable why average players skill levels are not so great in the MA's. I've always felt, the only way to learn is to go get your arus kicked, so that's how I've learned to date.

Problem with that, is it's a long hard and discouraging road to have to take. Most people don't want to put that kind of effort into learning the game, they just want to have some fun. So in the end we end up with guys that fly nothing but spit16's and LA7's that won't fight.

So IMO the only way to solve it, is if the community (meaning vets) starts to take intrest in the newer players and helping them out. We can either sit around and complain about it, or we can do something about it.

The problem with you Skyrock is you don't keep it just to 200. Like the other night with me and you. You claimed I was trying to steal "your kill".

Reguardless of who engaged the plane first, you starting *****ing at me on vox about it, and then we went our own ways. No biggie I thought.

Then 24 hours later you find me at a furball and you start running your mouth again on vox about the same crap from the night before. This time you start telling everyone in rage how I'm a "gang tard" and a "kill stealer". If I wouldn't have squelched you, I bet you would have went on for 10 mins or more.

Sorry buddy, I know myself I can't say I don't give a little grief on 200. However I do try to keep it to country bashing in general. Like telling the Bish to bring another 30 bombers, or maybe I'll give a dweeb ride commit every so often.

So I know I have a little E-noodle from time to time, but I always try not to make it personal with any specific person. Rather I just rant on 200 for some fun to blow off a little steam, but I try to never attack anyone personally.

You on the other hand always make it a point to attack people by singling them out and harassing them. For what? Just to get your kicks off because you are drunk? You act like you are the 12 year old schoolyard bully of aces high.

Personally, I'm going to try to lay low on 200 from now on, because maybe my little bits of what I think is fun, might tick others off. One can only hope you will take this to heart and lay off the personal attacks of other players.

I'm doing my part to help clean up 200.

Last night I was defending a base, and I dove in against 5 to 1 odds..... it was BOPs squad night :D ....... I got one or two, but a tiffy comes screaming in with a bit of alt on a strait HOin pass. I tried rolling out of the way, but lets say, he was better at HOin than I was at avoiding  :D

There was a few comments I made, in fun with Flac and a few others, but I never named names, and we all went our separate ways with a few All in all even tho I got trashed by a "cheap shot" its all good, we all had some fun. There is no point in me getting all wound up about a HO, nor is it really all that much fun spending the night swapping verbal jabs with a couple hundred BOPs  :D

If each of us "policed" ourselves, we wouldn't have a problem  :aok

Wow... that's 180 degrees the opposite of what I got.  When I first joined a little over a year ago I got a lot of help and advice, still do, expect I always will.   If I know something a new guy doesn't I'm more than happy to help them in the TA.  Interesting that our experiences were different.
