Nice! That must have been rewarding to see it completed.
We layed down some awesome floor down, which thankfully is the same height as the carpet in the adjoining room.
But I think we were supposed to leave some excess carpet (it rolls into the edging? And it's concrete that it would be secured to)
Hmmmm... may be a great reason to get whole new carpet!:D
every time when light bulb in my car is burn i go to dealer and pick up new car, Good love US!
as for carpet
go to home depot, pick up sharp knife, transition strip matching new floor you just put down (tiles or pergo?). For you it have to be T shaped.
It can come with metal rail or not
If its one of those with metal rail, you need to cut carped to fit rail between new floor and carpet. Cut it to match size of opening. Nail it in to subfloor , slip T shaped pice in to rail.
Personally i dont like metal strips, they look cheap.....
If you pick up strip without rail (its still T shaped), get some construction glue from HD, cut strip to fit, cut carpet to make room for it, spread glue, position strip, push down, put something heavy on it for couple hours. If you use wooden strip to avoid living weight , you can nail it to subfloor. I dont recommend that if you dont have air nail gun
estimated time needed, 1h HD
20 minutes installation
Drink coffee before you start , or whatever its make you calm......
