I've got a Classic Army G36C (my pride and joy, I love the weight), a KWA Glock 17, I like the look of the TM1911 but I've always loved Glocks.  I also have an M4A1 by Well (made in China I think) it's not bad but is nothing special, and a UTG M24. I had a CF sniper take it out for a game this year and he was throughly impressed with it.

You don't understand how the circuit board works. It's just a micro-switch. There's pushbutton switches, photocell switches, and a couple other times. When you slap a trigger (not pull & hold, just slap your finger past it), it actually bounces on that micro-switch a number of times. Depending on how your software is setup, it'll read each of those bounces as an individual trigger pull. It's technically true because the trigger is depressing the switch that many times. There's lots of rules regarding this stuff and rules vary from league to league (mainly by insurance provider).

With a gun tuned to NOT read any bounces, I've peaked at 13bps, and I'm relatively slow compared to some friends. The trigger pull is only 1-3mm, nothing like a real or airsoft gun.

Ah, my bad, I wasn't familiar with that system, sounds interesting tho.  I still say 20bps is a little fast for regular semi-auto, but I've broken my trigger finger a few times so I'm probably quite a bit slower than most.

Ive been playing Paintball seriously for about a year now, and its without a doubt the funnest sport ive ever participated in..

it gets a little expensive when you play at the tournament level, but there is nothing I would rather be doing.

we have our own NPPL field now, some sponsorship to offset costs and whatnot, so it isnt too bad..

only thing I regret is not fining the sport sooner, I started at 26,  wish it would have been 16.

you actually use 2 fingers, your middle and index, about the fastest a person can shoot a LEGAL marker is about 15, you can get in to the 20s with some trigger bounce but that will get your yelled at by a ref in rec play or yanked from the field in a tournament.

the marker Im currently using can exceed 30 a sec assuming the loader can keep up.  but anything above 15 is more or less strictly for bragging rights.

depending on what league you play in there are different settings that are legal,  such as ramping etc etc..

I'm not a big tournament guy. I prefer long games 12-24 hrs, sleeping and eating in the field, using tracer bb's at night (they can give away your position, but are just too dam cool) and trying to make it as real as possible.

We had a night game before...was much fun...pitch black and no light...kinda like those night missions with the SEALs.

I secured this toy gun and handcuffed the kid (who was now shaking like a leaf!)  At this point, my back up arrived.  I had a chance to inspect this toy.  Now if anyone has ever handled a real AR-15, We happen to carry the exact model in our cruisers, this thing was IDENTICAL to what most cops carry in Massachusetts.  There is a removeable magazine, the dust cover, forward bolt assist, and the combat stock.  I had never seen the Airsoft products and was amazed at how lucky this kid was.  Not to pat myself on the back, but if this kid ran up against a rookie, the outcome could have been devastating!

Many street survival courses that I've seen show horror stories how criminals will paint their weapons to look like toys.  Anything to have that split second advantage over a police officer.  Thats where the orange tip or any other color of the weapon comes into play.

The kid wasn't charged but his toy gun was confiscated and his parents were spoken to.  It turned out that his father bought the airsoft for him, not realizing the dangers.

Don't get me wrong, I think paintball and the airsoft guns are a great way for kids to have fun.  I did it (paintball) and had a blast.  I just think that its safer if the kids are explained the potential dangers and Airsoft should pull those guns that look like the real thing!

When my kid and the neighborhood kids got into airsofting a few years back I took the following precautions.  #1 I called the local PD and informed them that about 10 kids in my neighborhood were into it and would either be in my yard or on the public land a few blocks over #2 I instructed the kids that if they weren't in my yard the weapons were to be carried in bags or backpacks until they got to the public lands (the local kids actually listen to me God knows why), #3 if a police car ever stopped around them they were to lay the weapons on the ground and take two steps back from them with their hands clearly visible.

The only time they had an officer question them he wound up shooting my kids weapon and came by to ask me where he could get one.

A little common sense and parenting goes a long way.

Personally I do not fault you for your response initially.  What would you have done had the kid done what I've instructed mine to do?

Dicho, I'm glad to see the kids in your neighborhood have that kind of respect for you!  I applaude you for taking an interest in your kids hobbies.  If I had come across a kid as you described; paintball (or airsoft rifle) in a bag.  I wouldn't have asked him to put his bag down.  I would consider that "secured".  I probably wouldn't have gotten the 911 calls either.  Like I said before, I'm not a tyrant.  I was a kid too!

Over the weekend in Revere Massachusetts.  A 17 year old kid shot & killed a cop.  

I just want to reiterate, I DON'T condone paintball or the airsoft guns.  I think they are great.  I remember playing all over the east coast when all the paintball guns were pistols that you hald to push a button to shoot.  10 shots then you had to reload.  That was paintball.  The game has gone from that to who can paint a house in the shortest time.  I have about 4 paintball guns still.  But to the players today, they are in the category of antiques.  It would be like going to Iraq with a flintlock.

I'm thinking about going out and buying a Tippmann, my uncle (whos a Paintball Nut) says it's a lot cheaper to buy upgrades for Tippmanns.
