That's because F1 and Indy have rain tires that canbe used on road cources.  They have yet to make an effective rain tire that works on a high banked speed way.  Once goodyear figures that one out, the will be rolling inthe money and NASCAR will run when it rains.

Why wouldn't a normal rain tire work just as well as it would on a road course? A banked oval is less demanding for the tire, as the water drains out.

Maybe the risks wouldn't be acceptable, but it surely isn't because of the tires.

fyi - camera was mounted on Ferrari driven by Massa, white car was BMW driven by Kubica. It is a finish of a last lap in GP of Japan last weekend.

Crazy race indeed.
