Gents,

Just a quick shot to verify the color scheme. This will be modified somewhat as I dial it in closer to the actual aircraft, but just want some verification on the accuracy of the colors in a game setting...

Think I'd round it on the top of the nose a bit and fade the two blues into each other so it isn't such a sharp edge? Your lower blue looks too blue at least on my computer. From the photo it appears it was a bit more grayish blue. Also appears from the photo that the rudders were the darker top of the fuselage blue

I haven't done the transitions between the colors yet, and there will be places that don't have the different shades of paint that probably need to be there. The aircraft I'm doing has the intermediate blue on the rudders. I think some of the squadrons varied the tri-color transitions a good bit. I've seen about as many different versions of the tri-color as I've seen pictures of PBJ-1's.

I appreciate the input. I imagine I'll tone down the intensity of the colors as I get it weathered later on. I was just hoping to get some input on the colors. I'll update this as I go.

Thanks Again. I'll try and get a profile of the plane I'm doing. Eventually this should be a VMB-613 bird named "Love Bug". It was their only operational loss of the war, downed by bomb fragments, its thought, by the aircraft that dropped in front of it. The two pilots that flew the aircraft both had the last name "Love", hence the name.

Looks good. In regards to starting colors, I find these RGB values come pretty close to the "natural" tricolor:

Non-specular Sea Blue: 11, 31, 38
Intermediate Blue: 111, 124, 138
Insignia White: 255, 253, 250

However keep in mind both blues tend to become grayer as they fade, and aircraft in the PTO tended to be HEAVILY faded. I've seen some photos where the darker top surfaces and the intermediate blue flanks are so faded that they're nearly blended together.
