Oh please fix the bug when rotating clutter in OE when building terrain tiles. When building tile it will take forever if you rotated many objects and will make a huge .shp file.

I've been asking for this for 2 years now.And this morning i was especially mad at it!

Unfortunately I was told this was the new norm of AH2 Terrains. Japan required new object tiles and it increased the size to 31mb:(

hehe, where's XJazz when you need him.

I would probably try to do it with Excel if I thought I'd need to do it more then once or twice. Then it could work for either the OE or TE.

If you change a terrain tile you take a huge size hit but I don't see it for most object 'tiles' unless you include custom shapes you built in ac3d. I have some custom airfield ground tiles but I prefer not to use them because of the 0.3 MB they add, mostly caused by the associated bitmap texture. Having said that, the two terrains I'm working on now are going to use a lot of custom stuff.
Easy in-game again.

Yeah, work it out in excel, too many objects too many numbers.
Problem is, houses on tiles have to be placed exactly how i want them!;)

I guess i'll just have to wait some time till they build.Size is already huge so it's not a big problem hehe.(still on 1024 textures)

edit: 3.3 mb per tile, poop.So this bug won't be fixed you say?Great...

Preciously these OE-built objects (like terrain tiles) had only the info of other objects location, type and orientation, etc... basically the same stuff that is in the *.til file.

I assume the built tiles now include all the shapes as well, which does not see too economical at all since the same shapes are repeated over and over in different files while previously just a single copy of each object in texsrc folder was enough.... but just speculating here. I may be wrong :)

However, it is actually easy to see how the terrain tile's built size decreases by removing one copy after copy of certain type of object. :(

I think you're right Blauk. I have no other explanation for the huge increase in size when you're using shapes out of the standard shape list.

I use modified beaches, I didn't add anything, I only removed some parts and rebuilt them. That wasn't too bad only a slight increase, but the minute I tried to add a series of built in tank traps the size went nuts.

I'm not too familiar with these tiles.  Just warming up with tile creation idea... in Blender :p
