Plz help with requirements

Hi, I just have a problem. I try to run the game and it tells me that it encounters a problem and that it needs to close, while the window is white in the background.
can someone tell me what are the requirements??

800 mhz cpu , 512 ram ,and a decient nvidia or ati video card . thats the bottom line of pc that will play AH .


post up the 1st third of your dxdiag file and we will tell ya if your pc will run ah and help trouble shoot it .

Go to Start, run , type in dxdiag

let it run . save file . then copy and paste the 1st 3rd of it.

I have played the game with 256 ram on xp with no problems, but you seem to have 190 mb ram?
Your graphics card is Intel integrated, which is very slow, you can play this game on medium setting on very slow cards (i am playing with 4-5 years old radeon 9200 on medium settings), or even better if you have money, better card.

If I'm not mistaken, he has 256mb ram but ##mb is being shared by the built in video card causing it to report 190mb.

In any case he needs to do something about the video card to play.

I had a look on the HP website and if I read it right your system spec is listed on this page. It looks like the motherboard only has PCI slots available for expansion, not the PCI-Express slot you would need for that video card. Another issue with this sort of PC might be the power supply. It isn't clear what wattage supply you have, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was to weak to cope with a modern video card.

Probably best to go for a new PC I'm afraid.

but what really bothers me is that I used to play the game on my OLDER computer. COMPAQ PRESARIO 5000.  I got this pc in 2000. I dont understand, but I guess ill just have to wait till i get a new one.

Newer is not neccessarily better.  If there is a chaeper way to build a copmputr, OEM's will find it and do it.  Using the Intel video chip is a very popular and cheap thing to do, as an example.

Using the Celeron CPU is a very popular and cheap thing to do.

Putting less RAM in the computer is a popular and cheap thing to do.

In general the accepted useful lifespan (the time it is capable of running the software of the day) of a computer is about 5 years. This can be extended by purchasing a top of the line system that is upgradable. But even then you will eventually be limited by how far you can upgrade.
