Car systems

Went and put a system in my trailblazer today. Pretty cheap considering the manufacturer of the parts. Im highly impressed. So are my buddies. I'll put up pictures tomorrow.


Head unit: Panisonic CQC8053CU
Amp: Rockford Fosgate Power 500.1 Black Amp
Sub: Rockford Fosgate Power Series T1 12" Dual Voice Coil 1,000W 4 Ohms

Makes all the ladies turn and look. =)

I was never a fan either. But the origanal system in my car was shot. Needed to be replaced. So I just upped it up some. I myself am not a big fan of cars that just blast base and cannot hear anything else. I listen to classic rock and country mostly. No need to blast the base in either.

for aftermarket products Rockford Fosgate has arguably some of the best products.

back in HS I had the "boom boom" system, RF subs, and the loudest in the whole school, and it was cheaper by hundreds $$ than other systems.


my favorite current factory system is the cadillac bose, but I always hoped Rockford Fosgate would get into that market, or at least full sound systems.

I don't want a stereo that vibrates the car, just full sound clear and even, and you can't do that without a lot of power and solid sound cones.

Completely agree. RF systems are high quality. Ive yet to hear from anyone that anything broke in their RF systems except when it was their fault.

I finally updated my sound sytem in my jeep. I had the stock sound bar and speaks and they were shot. The music I listen to is pretty broad in terms of Rock and Roll, but I aslo wanted a sound system that could be heard with the top down and sound great. The shop down the street specialized in car audio, so I checked them out. I told him what I wanted and what my budget was approx $1500.00. He turned me on to this hi end Clarion system set up with hd radio and CD. So he replaced the sound bar speaks with 1200 watt mids and in the dash 1200 watt tweets both all Clarion. Mind you this is the first after market sound system I have bought for a car in about fifteen yrs. (Last one was an Alpine system for a 1989 Nissan 4x4) Anyways the material they make speakers out of and the technology in new sytems is unbeleivable. Kevlar/ Cermaic / Carbon fiber unreal. Stereo head has multiple by pass filters and seprate sub controls with jacks for hd tuner and I pod. The Shop installed a 300 watt mono sub amp bridged to 600 watts. This is connected to a duel cone Kevlar cermaic 12" sub in a ported box mounted in the back compartment rated at 1600 watts. The amp and sub are also Clarion. This stereo is one of those ones you will hear coming down the street 2 blocks away. Yes the sub shakes the jeep. It knocked my rear view mirror right of the windshield. I also like to crank it when mister Hip Hop is listening to his stuff and I am getting thumped by his subs. You should see the looks I get when I thump them right back LOL! Smoke on the Water Live (Made from Japan) Kicks their Arse everytime!:lol

I also like to thump back. Last night on the way back to base after having the system installed a Mustang pulled up to me at a red light. He and his girl (hottie) were blasting some rap song on a local radio station. I found the station and turned my subs up. He looked around in amazement for the car that was doing it. He never thought it would be a white boy in a trailblazer. His girl gave me a nice smile and made him turn his down. That made my day. He didnt look to happy.

It is one thing to thump! But it is great to thump and hear the song too!
