Repairing a stick.
« on: October 08, 2007, 06:11:44 AM »
I still have what I consider the best stick ever made. The Microsoft sidewinder 2 Force Feedback. (the one with the red trigger button).

The stick isn't made anymore and I've yet to find anything that can compete with it. It's worked perfect for several years and I've been dreading the day something goes bad on it.

Well as luck would have it, my trigger switch is going bad. It will still fire but it cuts out on me. Meaning it will stop firing if holding it down. I have to shoot as if I'm firing a single burst at a time. Needless to say that can cause some issues in this game. (however I guess it's a great way to conserve ammo :huh )

I'm wondering if anyone here has had this issue before and has a clue as to where to get a new switch for the stick? (I'm assuming it's the actual switch that's going bad) I figure if anyone would know, it would be someone from this board.

This is a great timely thread for me anyway.  I have an old sidewinder ff stick also, although my main trigger button is black.  I may order a few switches just to have them around.  My fire switches are starting to act up also.
