A friend of mine sent this to me and it makes a very interesting point. I'm sure the liberals in here will have an opinion on this but for me I think it's a great idea.

Pee Test

Like a lot of folks in this country...I have a job. I work, they pay
me.

I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees
fit.

In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test, with which I have no problem.

What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to
people who don't have to pass a urine test.

Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check
because I have to pass one to earn it for them?

Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on
their feet.

I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone sitting on
their butt and using drugs.

Could you imagine how much money the state would save if people had
to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?

Works for me.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

there is no probable cause for a "random urine test", if there is cause for suspecting drug use then take drug test, other wise i say piss on "random tests"

How 'bout road taxes, drive on a federaly funded hiway, be subject to random drug tests.

Fly on an airline? The FAA is federaly funded, pee in a cup before getting your boarding pass or a few days before.

Like to fish from a boat? The USCG and Park Police recieve federal dollars. Pee in a cup on the launch ramp...maybe reserve a pee test a few days prior.

Breathe air? Federal dollars are used to monitor and help keep it clean...pee in a cup before breathing.

Point is, why should one group be singled out when everyone is somehow on the federal dole?

Actually, I'm not sure about this one. While I am usually steadfast against any erosion of individual rights, I think government assistance should have some conditions. For example, anyone capable of working should have to show the attempt to find work. If this involves a drug screen then that is OK by me, as long as it is conducted by the private sector or as a requirement of the job.

I don't think he is saying probable cause. Just saying it should be a condition you have to accept before taking someone's money.

I worked at a job once that had a small gov't contract.  As part of the requirements for that contract the company had to show it did X number of random drugs per year.

I was always one of the three people who got pulled to take the test... because mangement knew the three of us could pass, and wasn't too sure about the others at the office.

How would the democrats ever get elected if we denied a significant percentage of their constituency a free ride? Ain't gonna happen so long as these lazy and selfish bums get to vote.

I pay to fly on that aircraft, and the amount I pay is taxed.

The reason why is that the people on govt. assistance are net tax receivers, while I am a net tax contributor.  I am already paying for all of the services I use, as well as the ones that they use.
