Curious , why do moderators squelch people on 200 for being to obnoxious
but this forum allows an anything goes policy .

My thoughts ...

In game moderation probably ranks higher on HTC's list so that your in-game experience is not a bad experience ... key here is in-game.

HTC has non-HTC employees who monitor CH200 ... where as in the BBS, they only have non-HTC employee moderators watching the OClub.

There aren't enough eyes, arms, and time at HTC to constantly monitor all the threads and post on the BBS outside of the OClub.

You can, at times, see when they do have time, and moderation of BBS posts happen in mass.

To play in the game you can't turn off the chat text, even though you can control frequencies for the most part.

No one is required to come here to play in the game.

Believe me when I say they are both monitored and moderated. Just a matter of to what degree.

understand that Slappy , but isn't all of this owned by the same people
who encorage mods to squelch for calling others idots and such .

on the BB I can start any post I want and it will eventually
become an ankle humping dog beat you up in the back alley 300 reply

Somwhere along the line HTC left the rule book at home .

Ask not what you can do for the BBS, but rather what the BBS can do for you

Well ... I think it all boils down to there are bigger fish to fry at HTC headquarters these days.

I just perused a thread where both Steve and Storch just got SkuzzyPwnd in a big way ... and I quote ...

See Rule #4, #5 (one more and you are gone)

Skuzzy was home ill for a few days, and yet was still coming on to keep up with the emails (how many emails/calls does that guy have to field each day?) and then having to explain what he was doing when someone complained that he wasn't answering his email (while he was home sick!). Babysitting the forums isn't his only duty, and it shouldn't be his primary task- cut him a little slack.

The only way HTC could keep their boards perfectly clean would be to not let anyone post on them, period. I'd rather have a few dolts around (the ignore feature is quite handy, btw) than nothing, and this bbs, for the most part, is really tame.

I have in my possession a Screenshot of myself being warned Sunday night.   Apparently "200 is supposed to be used for Aces High discussions only".    I nearly pissed myself laughing.   5.5 years and the "new firsts keep on a coming".

I usually only get warned when I use the proper nomenclature, for the area where the pilot sits, i.e. the "co$#pit". Can we ease up a bit ....what else shall we call the area where the pilot performs his dutys? flying station??? just say'n ;)
