What happened to the Euro friendly events?

Back when I last played - about 4 years ago - there used to be plenty of events that those GMT types could attend and still get up for work. There was CAP (which had great attendance IIRC), Snapshots etc. Now there are just the big scenarios which, by their nature, are few and far between.

Is this a demand issue? Has the demographic moved away from European players? Are people just less interested in historical scenarios?

I'd love to play FSO, but the timing is absolutely no good, even for a Friday night. The Air Racing looks great - but there's no way on earth I could function at work if I stayed up that late.

The MA is crap. It always was a practice arena for me. However, it seems that it is all there is for your average European player. Without CT, I'm not sure how much longer AH will hold my attention - which is a shame because it is a great game and a fantastic way of re-creating history.

DGS was specifically scheduled at 19:00 GMT (15:00 EDT) so Euros could participate.
Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

We threw a party called Close Escort at Noon Eastern on Sunday’s and few of the Europeans showed up, especially in the late war setups. The attendance didn’t sustain the effort so it was cancelled and a similar event was started on Sunday nights, and is drawing large crowds. btw, It’s format is almost identical and it's schedule isn’t consistent at the moment but people still come.

The CM team literally put hundreds, if not thousands of hours into Close Escort and there were frames where almost half the players were CMs trying to help fill the arena. I don't believe you'll ever see that kind of effort again, at least not until the European players themselves begin building a large enough community of support.
Easy in-game again.

It's such a contrast to the days of CAP - I remember my whole squad (as was) turning up for it. Perhaps there were a hundred playing, if I remember correctly.

I'll check out this Sunday night (my time) thing. It's just not in the scenario announcements.

Actually it isn't. The same thing happened in the late war frames of CAP and it was rare to see the same faces flying Axis every week. We had a few die hard bomber pilots in Ju88s and a very small handful of Europeans.
Easy in-game again.

Solution might be in hosting small snapshots, out of ~120 people online(eus, aussies, late usa) playing in gmt morning at least 15 could join, needing also 1 european CM.
(Wrote this on my mob.phone:))

Isn't this something the European community could create?  I vote Dowding as Emperor!

It needs a snazzy Euro Name though...

I've actually tasked SASMOX with coming up with a Euro Friendly snapshot on Sunday.

PM the heck out of him and ask him Where Is It :D   Nothing like a little Demand to encourage our guys to set something up.

Nothing clever here.  Please, move along.

I'm hoping to make the thursday snapshot at least. :)

It's a shame we didn't have a few thousand more players - then statistically we'd have more people playing at GMT times.

I don't want to be an emperor. I was a CM once, that was close enough. :D
