I quit for 10 days.  All my perk points, gone.  I did still have my original download.  I let somebody p me o.  The only person you hurt is yourself.

I was dreaming this silly game, like I did my girlfriend when I did basic.

I'm not a squeaker, old enough to be most guys' here, grandad.

I still get pissed.  I just distance myself from the game for a few days.  When the shakes and jitters return, I come back to it.  LOL

Been doing this game since Spring and I'm still learning.  I have half a file cabinet drawer with hardcopy saves to refer back to.

It's not about badgering kids, or tormenting them. This is the internet, which means the playing field is the same for all. Since when do we start playing favorites with who gets ragged on. You do something stupid, no matter what age, people make fun of you; both in real life and in games. When you repeatably screw up, after numerous times of people trying to help, then the ragging gets even worse.

Now, I'm not saying it's right, but I will say I agree with those who pointed out, that he came here. He started this thread, knowing majority wouldn't care, because most doesn't even know him. Point is, there's no favoritism when it comes to fun making, or "badgering". Never was, never will be. The reactions you get are from the actions you've committed. No matter if your 15 or 50, guy or girl, in this game, you will get the same treatment.

For other "squeakers", young VR pilots, take a word of advice, from experience.. have fun, but be respectful. If you have a "vet" willing to help you, whether its how you carry yourself verbally, or just how to play the game. Take it in and learn from it, otherwise, you will get roasted for "knowing it all" and doing the same old dumb chit.

Kenny, don't let these BBS low-lives get the best of you.  You are always welcome to fly with me.  I had a great time scouting out that CV group in FSO a few months back.  I will say that Kenny has always pulled his weight in FSO, and although he is young, he has shown quite a bit of skill flying with us.  Hope to see you again on Friday nights.  :aok

Well, I think that if parents are going to allow their children to play online games or engage in the online community at all, they should know that their kid is mature enough to handle it alone or actively supervise his play. It's preventable that Kenny leaves with bad feelings.

Sure, adults shouldn't handle a kid roughly, but at the same time kids shouldn't be allowed to exploit their "kidness", and some do to be sure. One of the first signs of maturity is the ability to recognize that the parameters of acceptable and unacceptable behavior change from situation to situation, if that isn't understood then unsupervised online play shouldn't be allowed.

All in all Aces High is largely an adult community and it is a social community as well. There are many younger players who fit in just fine, if a young player cannot find a way to fit in, they should hang it up for a couple of years.

Parents should always monitor and control their children's internet activity, it is irresponsible not to do so. Aces High is a fun place to hang out, but it's not a baby-sitter.

Personally I squelch squeakers a soon as id'd, except for the couple of them that routinely fly with their dad online as well, they never seem to be a bother.

u do got a point there,i mean, if u r a parent with a kid that plays AH2, u gotta take into consideration that prolly 90% of all that play r like 16+ years old and of course ppl r gonna get mad at squeekers and all that.

Not true, Not all parents really know what the game is or what its about.  I wouldn't doubt that half the kids playing this game never told there parents the what age group plays this mainly and the fact what is even said on vox and stuff.  If the kid has a pair of headsets on, the parents not gonna hear what is being said.  Now I will grant u this, it is the parents job to find out truely what the game has but there are parents there that don't even know how to use a computer let alone monitor this game.

Kenny was a squad member of mine at one time.  I did not particularly care for him but he did serve his purpose in the squad.  He was the resident squeker and we did rattle his cage a few times.  He did grow on me and I took him off the squelch list after about 2 weeks of proding.  He did his thing and it was tolerated.  He was apart of the AH community and will be missed.  Yeah I said it.

To those concerned with younger people on the AH.   My son (NastyP47) is 15 years old and he is gunning for a position with Precision on the Knights.  He is patient because I have told him to be.  He calls 6 alot and asks good questions and even though he does have a mike he does not use it excessively.  I play with him routinely and the Precision squad has been good to him.  They have made him feel welcome and help him with his questions.  He is one of those that a few have talked about that contribute as a young pilot in this realm.  If you see him in the skies and shoot him down salute him because he is calling you every freaken name he has heard from me when all you baastards nail me.

Learned this working the shops:

"The probability of someone watching you (or badgering you) is proportional to the stupidity of your action... "

Yeah, there is a certain mean-ness here to Aces High but as has been stated, it seems to be common to most Internet forums that are not moderated very well.

I moderate a couple forums to Yahoo! Groups, I don't tolerate uncivilized behavior.

D O DOUBLE G! ok...i know ur son plays...which is cool...he a cool lil squeaker..i only squelch him sometimes <>..but...in ALL honesty. its not up to the kids to tell their parents what kinda game this is or the age group..its the PARENTS responsibility to check it out, i mean..they give them their credit card number so they can have an account, seems like they would wanna know who their children are talking to and what kind of game they are playing with. just my 2cents.
