Runway markings
« on: October 15, 2007, 09:55:45 AM »
I think that runway markings such as  numbers, centerline, and touhdown stripes would be a good thing and not to difficult for HTC to do. If it helps 1 pilot in twenty to land his or her kills instead of crashing or ditching at a friendly airfield it would be worthwhile. I know that runway numbering wasn't commplace in ww2 but what the heck, moving maps and autopilot were not common either and we use those conveniences every sortie!

Your thoughts...:aok

The runway is the long, wide, gray thing with landing skid marks at both ends.

If you miss that, there's something wrong. ;)

How about some Dirt Strips or strips with the Marsden matting that was placed on top of the mud. I think that would be cool to have some dirt strips, maybe change it on the small fields.

I think they are in a couple of maps in the Special Events Arena.  Don't think they've made it into the MA's yet.

True... It's hard to miss a runway, but you're missing my point! Do YOU think that runway markings would be a good or bad addition?

Just an opinion. I'm okay with the runways as they are, but I too would also like to see the return of some dirt airfields as we had before.

I see no need for them.

Agreed.

Half the time we don't even use runways anymore...

I would like to see some small airfields with dirt runways though.

The penalty for not landing on the runway? What is it currently and should it be changed... I always try to land on one if I'm able. Markings would be more realisic in my humble opinion.
