Dweebygamer1 is sitting 1.0K away, and has his graphics turned down. Because of this, he clearly sees me as I am trying to figure out which direction to go to get out of my maze of hedges and trees.

He fires. Because of the arc in his shell's trajectory, it goes over all those hedges that are between me and him. It hits near me.

NHawk, you are just being foolish.  Try re-reading what I wrote.
I am not talking about angles.  I am not talking about shooting through objects.  It is all about line of sight.

If I am behind an object that obstructs your line of sight, you should not be able to see me. Period. However, the way the game is now, if you turn down the object detail, you can see me clear as day. The objects become transparent after a certain distance, but my tank does not. So, you can see me and lob shells over the objects that should be keeping you from seeing me in the first place.
You're right...I'm being foolish...I never play with graphics turned down. Yet I'll hit you because I see the top of your turret, or I see your pintle gun or the front or back of your tank, or I watched you wandering around trying to figure out which way to go and waited for you to stop moving. But your right....Your line of sight is always the same as my line of sight and you're behind hedges or some trees and...

You can't see me, so I can't see you. :aok

Yet again...I NEVER turn down graphic detail...I DO agree that the graphics shouldn't be able to be turned down to see GVs and I posted it in the Wishlist forum, but again...if you truely have a tree or hill blocking another players shot it will block it.

But don't assume you can't be seen by those playing with graphics turned fully UP. Because when I kill someone, that's where my graphics are set...full left on both sliders.

while on the subject of gv lameness...

Sound.

It gets gamed too.  Sound and visual settings should be not be adjustable in gvs  .

Alright, I have been reading this thread with interest.  Its fun to have graphics up as stated because u can see exactly where to hit somebody hiding ie turret top, rear or front end, sometimes in a hedge u can kill them by shooting the tracks out under the hedge.

Anyway, how does one use sound to game the game?   I mean do you guys listen to what direction the enemy is coming from and turn your turret????????  Im just a farmer who logs on and ups a panzer and shoots it out.  Besides that I am a little hard of hearing in real life.

I have been at the top of a hill, with a ridge in front of me so that i would have to jump in pee shooter and scroll up just to see the top of a tank! NO shot angle for me, and was killed by dr7------> now i ask you WTF! Also day before last I also was on a hill firing down on a Vbase at a panzer, panzer moved closer to hill so my angle was poor! but so was his at me, he moved closer to base to improve his angle thereby improving mine! about 8 to 10 shells were exchanged at approx 1800 yds, poof my tiger is dead, evey single one of my shots dissapeared half way to target, NO sprite from tree hit or building or whatever, just dissapeared half way to target! now I ask you again-->W.T.F.< QAlso I am totaly convinced dr7 can shoot thru any hill! :(  wish i could do that!  :furious

Oh! one more thing all enemy icons should be removed from game!! LETS HAVE TO SEARCH FOR gvS , AND OR HAVE FRIENLIES MARK THEM WITH SMOKE FOR BOMBING RUNS! And how about not being quite sure of what you are engaging in the air till you can see it!! I think this would be a great improvement  :) Having only friendlies with icons would still let you know who the bad guys are!!
