Someone logged out, and 3 people logged in simultaneously.

Easy explanation: Someone logged off, so server went 119/120
That very moment 3 people get to the login screen, see the free spot and enter arena. Thus resulting in 122/120 for the next person reaching the login screen.

read what was said above.... if three people hit the login screen at the same time they ALL see one spot left. In this case instead of the computers just "picking one" it lets ALL three in, that's how the numbers can go over the limit.

the other arenas don't have a problem with over population so they didn't need to be split, and then controlled the way the late war arenas are

You, hub, lushe and I, all log into the server around the same time.  We all get served an arena list that says blue 119/120.  We all can get in because we are all given data that says there is a slot availible.  You, hub, and lusche enter blue, while I go grab a drink.  Now it's 122/120.  Guess what?  As long as I don't refresh my arena list by relogging or selecting an arena I can still get in.  My list still says 119/120.  I enter blue, now its 123/120.

Get the picture?

Arena Full

What I do is, is, if arena is full and I cannot get in; I choose another arena.  I go over to the other site, I take a plane out and go to login at an airfield, shut engine off, log out of that arena.  I go back to the arena I wanted to go to in the 1st place, and usuallly there is an opening.  So, how long did that take?  Maybe two minutes?  I'm ok that way usually.  If I still can't get it, I repeat the process.   The rare times that doesn't work I'll go kill some time in another arena.  Prime Time, Eastern time zone is usually full;  Once the Californians hit the hay or 2 AM or any morning hours until about 10 AM usually no problem with getting in to any of the arenas.

Works for me, your mileage may vary...

I see alot of people just hanging around in the LOBBY, so if they enter the lobby and the arena says 105/120. They go afk for 5 or more hours. You login and see the arena has 120/120 and go to another arena. The person afk in the lobby comes back and enters the arena which is techniclly full but to him its 105/120. You exit the arena you entered to see the arena you want to go to now says 121/120.

Just enter and exit arenas long enough and you'll get a spot.
