Rockets bounce off tanks but kill everthing else
« on: October 18, 2007, 03:52:06 AM »
Anyone having trouble hitting and damaging tanks with rockets because they bounce off?

I think they should at least explode and have heard their about equal to about a 170 to 200 pound bomb.

I can kill everything but tanks with them.... unsure of osti's now that I think of it

Sure I've seen AP rounds bounce off but I suppose some parts of the tank are set that way by HTC. Hitting a tank in the rear, side or turret with a rocket should kill or at least damage it.

This problem happening to anyone else?

It's not uncommon to get the odd richoshay from time to time.  As a rule I usually salvo 3 or 5 from the rear about 800 yards.

a 5" HVAR had about 55lbs of HE IIRC.  while they did travel at about mach 2 they were only semi armor piercing.  they should be able to knock out the propulsion system on a tank.
