The best, and the least...

The reality is that every plane in the game is suprisingly good if well handled. There is no "bad" ride...however some planes like the P-40 require a good stick and a good feel for the plane....

P-51B and the 205 are probably the easist for the "average" pilot to do well in.

The ki-67 is the most underused bomber. Low payload but good for small fields & GV bases. Very fast and hvy firepower...b-26 is toughest bomber to bring down in view...so pickem there IMO

Last but not least the A-20/110/mossie...

These are the 3 "strike aircraft". All have a combination of ords and guns that can do alot of damage. Personally I favor the A-20 because its a far superior air to air plane then either the mossie or 110 IMO and has 4,000lbs of ords.

Of the perkies the C-hog and -4 are the best bang for the buck IMO...

You can snap the wings on a Ta-152 by pulling max g's out of a high speed dive.  While it could be a very good high-alt buff hunter, the other big fault of the Ta-152 is that it takes radiator damage pretty easily.  Still, I like to fly it and think it's the most manouverable of all the 190's, including the A-5.

Still, there's no substitute for the A-8.  It is simply a monster and with a 30 point ENY racks up perks like nothing else.  And contrary to what most believe, it's not all that bad in a turn fight (probably for the fact that there are a lot of inexperienced pilots around).
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

Ive never gone up against a P-40. What are its strengths and weaknesses? If I remember my history right it was a pretty good energy fighter with good firepower, and tough! It did well the first few years of the war most of all in China. Tho it was up against the zero, which as good a fighter as it was it was also delicate and had no self sealing tanks.

Ive never flown a Boston strange as that may sound. Being a bomber stick. I think I'll take one for a spin soon.

I would rate the B-26 as under-used. In my opinion its the best medium and tactical bomber there is. The KI-67 is probably under-used. Boy I wish it had 400 more rounds in the tail. It seems like every time I go up in it I end with 3 or 4 fighters chasing me. It is a fun aircraft to fly however.

Is it just me or is the C.205 developing more of a following? I seem to see it more this tour. Ive been running into more LaLa's as well.

A couple good bomber sticks swear by the JU-88. I like flying it but haven't for awhile. Maybe I'll spend more time in that bomber too.

One of the things I love about this game is the availability of so many aircraft. And not just fly either, but also to go up against.

Yak-9u. Once you've learned the art of " thou shall not spray" Then the yak is for you...It's just about the best non perked ride there is, great engine, performance, turn rate. Only draw backs are the limited ammunition and fuel. It's a Ko bird that u can't go hunting buffs in but does the job well against any fighter plane in the game.

i love the yak  :aok

I have no problems turning in the Ta-152.    Ask OddCAF or Scotchey what I've done in it.

Ta-152 pwns the A5.    The Ta-152 has the best gun package IMO.

But the "POS Ki61" would be the most underused.   It is the best though.

The 152's cockpit is ugly and unrealistic.

Sure, the forward view is restricted by the canopy frame..... but it was so in the real thing and so it should be here.
