Cr*p lag with seemingly good ping
« on: October 20, 2007, 01:08:50 AM »
Been having nasty lag with the accompanying discos all week.
Never happened before, just wondering what's the go.
I run a fully seperate profile for AHII.
Ping times are the usual 200ms+/-20ms I usually see on the clipboard at login but when I get into arena the text is useless and takes 15min to get into hangar, forget trying to move bases, ever
yet other times, I'm rock solid?

First ping to the correct game server, not hitechcreations.com.
From Skuzzy's sticky post at top of this forum:

First, the server IP addresses, to be used for traces/ping plots.

Early, Mid, Late War Orange Main Arena Server Address: 206.16.60.39
Axis vs Allies, Training, Dueling, Late War Blue: 206.16.60.38
Special Events: 206.16.60.37
Far too many, if not most, people on this Board post just to say something opposed to posting when they have something to say.

agreed, I did mant tracerts that day. I should have posted an appropriate one :)
The problem went away all by itself. and now it has resurfaced.
Since the problem is often associated with degraded conventional internet traffic I'm inclined to look outside my LAN for the source, Hellstra has recently upgraded the area to Level2 and everything has been UTS ever since
So withiut any further ado, the output to my most oft frequented arena.

Looks like the problem starts at hop #3 right inside of your ISP's network.  I would send this to them, or point them to this thread and see if they can help out.

They may have been doing some maintenance.

Thanks for that,
I've been on to them again. It seems my connection is only running at about 15% of it's expected performance so they've referred it onto the next level:rolleyes:
Somehow I don't think they'll have it resolved by 4am when I have to get up for DGS
