A big and WTG to Fester, Moot, Dolfo, and Urchin.  It was great having you guys with us Friday night, and you helped JG11 reach a first for us, being the top scoring Axis squad for enemy planes destroyed.  You guys were great fun to have with us, and the welcome mat is always out there for you all.

Was great fun thanks stampf :)

I have been trying to fly more snapshots and walkon to FSO's as I like the gameplay and realism of these events. next time I do will be sure to ask my squaddies if any would like to join in the fun :)

was a hell of a fight over a41 vs those spit9's. I did a tally of names of spit drivers and their squads we encountered and it would seem we were either outnumbered or went in with even odds.

that we survived the encounter and only lost 3 was quite a feat in my opinion.

I think dolfo should get the german cross for staying in the fight after his oil was hit and taking many of the spitfires down with him :) I think he ended up ditching but was captured :D

after rearming I was a bit nervous about having a missing elevator but figured I could help by distracting any enemies we encountered on our second hop. got reports of some p47s and p51s nearby that were straffing a field and shooting up a smaller group of luftwaffe fighters so we rushed in at low altitude to help but seems the allied fighters had time to finish off the few axis fighters and started grabbing.

we merged with a couple p51s co alt with us then a whole wave of high allied fighters showed up and bounced us :D

lost my radiator right off the bat after killing one of the p51s and was lucky to get it ditched as the engine blew with a couple p51s pinging away at me :D

great fun. FSO's seem to work better than some other events I have encountered as far as the promotion of good unit based dogfights and mission based strategic assignments go.
Fester was my in game name until September 2013

Yeah, that's what it's all about for sure.  The fight with the spitfires was down right awesome.  The rolling, diving, turning, ...clearing a buddies six, just to need a clear yourself right away!  It was great.  Very, very immersive.  At one point I rememebr yourself and myself on vox at the same time with the same thought,..."Keep it up boys we're winning !"  Thats just priceless in a game...when you are so immersed in the struggle...and when a friend gets knocked out you feel like crap...It was a grand dogfight with 109's and Spitfires.  Nuthin finer...Ooooh Raaaa!  The way Dolfo hung in there with sacrifce, helping all the rest of us saddle up..was an example in case, of the type of gameplay those types of engagements bring out.

I was worried at one point in the fight when myself, Vater and Rider all got pulled south by a single spit, and we were somewhat seperated from your schwarm.  It was a knail biter of a fight when we all engaged again...

Glad you have found "Special Events".  My aceshigh world changed when I did.  No comparison to MA play,...which has its place of course, but...SE rules for serious play, and as I am sure you saw right away, people approach the fight much differently when it's your one and only life hanging in the wind.  It's a whole new experience.

And you are right.  FSO for whatever mix of reasons, is currently da bomb as far as events go.  The formula works, it's not flawless or perfect but what is?  I know it is what I and alot of other peeps wait all week for.  300 in an arena most Fridays now, or real close.  Hope to see more of ya.

Damn,
And i missed flying with Urchin, Moot, and Dolfo. Would have been a sort of JG2 home coming if i had made it. Well still seems short without Lazerus even if i had made it.

Fester,
If it was you that ditched just off the coast . You didn't fly like your plane was damaged.

The first 51s were damaged as well and in a panic. I came in hot to the rescue and BnZed enough to keep you turning, but could not convert it for a kill.

You robbed me of the first fighter kill I would have gotten in 2 years:(
But I'll keep coming back and giving it the good try.
