I was getting annoyed at all the flies landing on me, my monitor and all the buzzing about in general.   This situation was made worse by the nice warm day we had on sunday and the door of my house (the tower) is on the SW side where the sun warms it nicely and all the flys in this area of the world seem to be gathered there waiting to invade my home in order to create false cons on my monitor that I have to constantly clean off. On top of this was the fact that my 4 children seemed to think that running in and out of the house every 5 minuits was a grand idea and with every opening of the door a fresh wave of the lil buggers came swarming in like returning Fighter/Bomber squads seeing their home air strip.

I went to the store down the road to get some fly strips to hang around like anti aircraft balloons but the owner says he didn't have any and seemed to be unable to get them, he had ordered them 3 weeks ago and had no fly spray either, even though I generally don't like using chemical warfare on the NME sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do...

So I have been reduced to the old standby, THE FLY SWATTER!!!! Or as I affeconatly call it, Mr. Slappy.   This is an old beast that has seen many tours of duty and should have been retired last year but I managed to revive it by wrapping it lovingly in Duct tape that kinda gives it an almost aircraft aluminium look.  This does make it kinda heavy and from time to time I have to bend the wire handle back after particularally fast vulches and the extra weight tends to make a mess out of these minuiture NME CON's unless you have just the right touch with it..

I usually go for the vulch while they are landed, this works well most of the time but every so often one will get off the runway and then the battle is on!   I think they are some form of minuiture ZEKE because of their amazing manuverabillity though they seem to have uprated engines because they are extreamly fast.  They twist and turn avoiding most of my B&Z attempts that I'm reduced to doing with Mr. Slappy. Most of the time they land again befor I can knock them out of the air, those uprated engines  must eat fuel like mad because they only seem to have a few seconds fo flight time.

Any way after a 10 to 15 min furball that I landed many kills in and that they were unable to even scratch me (I'm soooo UBER) I had the thought..... I wonder what my Hit percent is?

 :D

Geez, Stop using your late war uber-swatter.  Take the more challenging path.  Use your hands.

Really.  Flys always take off straight up.  Place one hand to each side just above them then clap.  As soon as they see your hands moving they take off right into them.  Dead fly.

It's sort of like scoring reverse perks.  It's free and your hit% skyrockets.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

<--- Owns flies.  I use a cup of soapy water with a thick head of foam to get the ones that are hard to get.  When they jump then get stuck in the foam and drown a slow painful death.

Rubber band, a finger, and practise. With some practise instead of just a dead fly, you can get art!

You can specialise, head shots, wing removal (single and double) body blasts, whatever your into.

And no its not hard to keep track of your hit % either. Give yourself 100 shots, mark down kills, probables, & possibles.

Early in the session keep the rubber bands short for increased Zap. Later as they get spooky go to longer rubber bands and "sniping". Bands can be whole or broken.

When you get up to 90% hit percentage let me know.  We can go DA (Dead animal) and find out who's the best.  :)

As Flayd reads about the rubber bands he looks over at the 12 round, 300 FPS air soft pistol on his desk and starts thinking.....  Now where did I put the goggles so I don't get hit in the eye from all the bouncing BB's?

Just make sure you get at least one dead spot in the middle of your screen. Fly guts makes the perfect organic gun sight.
