S.O.S. to skinning experts!

Gents, i need a little helping hand from your expert knowledge.

I am using PSP 10 and I have recently  downloaded a template psp file from the AH-skinners website and done my skin, trouble is no matter what i try ,i dont know how to turn that template into a file that will let me see it in the skin viewer and in offline mode e.t.c. i know which folders to put everything in, (i have done it sucsesfully before when not using a template, just gone over the top of the original BMP file ( in my noobie skinning days lol)  but now ive used a template for my work and worked on copy of the typhoon template, im lost as in how to convert thta into a format in which i can see it in the skin viewer.

the thing you want to view has to be 8bit or 256 colours it can be 1024x1024 but its got to be a bit map.

How are you naming the file its got to be something like typhoon_1 or what ever.

it should show up then
