Why don't field supplies do anything?
« on: October 24, 2007, 08:52:53 PM »
I just wasted a good 20 minutes of my life (god bless gv spawns a half sector from the base) running field supplies to one of the 4 fields bishops have left on islands, since it was porked.

Get to the field, drop off supplies.... nothing.

I did get a whopping 1.29 gv perks though!  WOOOOOOHOOOOO!!!

On a serious note... if it is possible for one guy to waste 20 minutes of his life strafing the radar and ord, impacting the game play of 100 people.. it should be possible for a different guy to waste 20 minutes of his life just to cancel out the first guy.

It used to be that you could totally resupply a base in four trips. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore. I've made as many as six resupply runs just to get the ord up and still nothing. Did get 3-4 GV perks though.:huh

you DID do something.

you have the perks to prove it.

you shortened the re-up time of that fields strats by 15min.

I love running supplies, even if there were no perks.  I know... it's disturbing.  As soon as I log on, that's the first thing I do ~ run supplies.  I can't stand to see bases that aren't full up.  It bothers me...

What was the show with Julia Roberts where her whacko husband made her arrange the cans of food all dress-right-dress, labels showing center, all up to the edge of the cabinet?  Reminds me of that.

As already mentioned your supplies deducted 15 mins off the regain time.  Being as your Bish City was near enough 0 % and other strat factories below 30%, your field could have taken a couple of hours to regain without manually delivered supplies.... you did well.

By the way supplies don't get anything up.  It reduces regain time by 15 min per drop.  There is a stupid myth that supplies have to land on concrete.  Anywhere on or near the field is OK.  You however don't want to ditch so you need to exit on concrete.

Reread the help file......lots of handy info.:aok

Good point. Supplies needs to be a little more effective.

The problem is that since you can't see any effect, supplying is very unsatisfying.
IF you could check the down time of stuff it might have been more rewarding (like having the down time showing on the board in the tower?)

Just like a woman.  My daughter loves to clean things.  Seriously.  She used to clean up her brothers room just for fun, till we made her stop so her lazy brother would have to do it himself.

I like this idea.  I run supplies occasionally.  Sure would be nice to see what you have done, or could do.
