I'm surprised this has not been mentioned. It took off with passengers...now will it land?

Airbus builds some fine quality ships, I'm sure it will do fine.  The most comfortable ride I've had was in an Airbus, but to be fair< I had to PAY for the comfort!  Smooth ride though....................... ...............:D

Yes, it landed in Sydney.

Crying towels for the "if it aint boeing i aint going" crowd were provided in the ladies' washroom at SIA airport. :lol

... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

There was a nice 3 part show on the Discovery Channel just recently on the A380. Well worth watching.

It's not an airplane...it's a....SHIP!

WTG Airbus :aok

(BTW, my most comfortable AIRLINER ride was with an Airbus)
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

most airbus models are nothing more than european copies of older Boeing designs, albeit with the benifit of newer technologies.  The A380 being unique from those.  Good job for AB, those people are justifiably proud.  They stepped out of the box (tripped more like it) and managed something truly grand.

But I doubt they will ever make money on it....some estimates are saying AB is already twenty billion euroes in the hole on the A380.

Competition is good, it forces other folks to get better.  If Airbus, McDonnel-Douglas, Lockheed, Bombardier, Ilyushin, Tupolev, Yakoklev, SAAB, BAE, etc etc etc didn't exist or had never existed, we'd all be flying in in 707s at best.

If you're talking about the business of subsidy vs. capitalism in the Airbus vs. Boeing debate, that's fine.  But spending all this time making silly statements about "that there airbus is gonna crash, hyuck hyuck" just looks...  well, silly.

A lot of airplanes look like each other and it is not because they are copies.
